Fans celebrate 37 years of winning the first World Cup

Twitter rejoices as the remember the incredible win of the Indian cricket team's first World Cup win 37 years ago on this day.

It has been 37 years since the Indian team lifted the maiden World Cup trophy in 1983. All the struggles, resentments, criticism saw its answer as India beat the West Indies and brought the cup home. The team led by Kapil Dev included Sunil Gavaskar, K Srikkanth, Mohinder Amarnath, Yashpal Sharma, SM Patil, Kirti Azad, Roger Binny, Madan Lal, Syed Kirmani, and Balwinder Sandhu. The historic win saw the Indian team managed to hold their grip on the field and beat their opponent with 43 runs.
