After Irrfan Khan, yet another Bollywood star, Sonali Bendre has been diagnosed with high-grade cancer. The news was revealed today by the actor herself on her social media handles.
The renowned actress was born on 1st January, 1975 and has been a part of the film industry since 1994. She has been critically acclaimed as well as loved by the audiences for many of her roles in movies such as Hum Sath Sath Hain, Sarfarosh, and Kal Ho Na Ho.

Bendre posted about how this is a curveball in her life and that she is going to fight every step of the way. She further informed that a niggling pain led to some tests in which this unexpected diagnosis came to their attention. The actor is currently going through a course of treatment in New York. By her tweet and her Instagram post, it seems as if Sonali is handling the news with strength and being optimistic about the future.
As soon as her post was out, wishes for her speedy recovery and well being started pouring in from her fans, friends and the Bollywood industry. Fashion designer Manish Malhotra wrote on her Instagram post, “Wishes and strength and love with you Sonali.” Her Hum Saath Saath Hain co-actor Neelam Soni commented, “You are the strongest girl I know. My superwoman.”

Sonali was currently a judge on the Zee TV reality show, India’s Best Dramebaaz. She has stepped down and is replaced by actress Huma Qureshi.
