A video of Union Minister Anurag Thakur encouraging a crowd in Delhi to shout 'goli maro saalon ko' directed at the people protesting against CAA.

In one of the rallies in Delhi, Union Minister of State for Finance, Anurag Thakur was seen encouraging the crowd to chant 'desh ke gaddaron ko, goli maro saalon ko” which translates to 'Shoot the traitors' in a video that surfaced online. The minister was there as part of an election campaign in Delhi when he made the crowd chant the same against the people protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Although they have not received any complaint, the Chief Electoral Officer has sought for a report of the incident from the District Election Officer and necessary actions will be taken against the same. However, it is not the first time that such slogans have been chanted. Several BJP ministers indulged in shouting these in support of the act. Delhi BJP pulled themselves back by saying it had nothing to do with the slogans.
