New Update
Grammys 2024

The Grammys 2024 were held in Los Angeles and here's a list of all the winners from the glamorous night!

The Grammys honor the best talents in the world of music and last night the ultimate favorites of this past year were celebrated. India is beaming with pride once again on a global stage as our living legends Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain bagged the golden trophy! The award was for their latest album 'This Moment' and they won in the 'Best Global Music Album' category. Theis album was released last year in June and features eight songs created by John McLaughlin (guitar synth), Zakir Hussain (tabla), Shankar Mahadevan (vocalist), V Selvaganesh (percussionist) and Ganesh Rajagopalan (violinist). Together, they formed their band 'Shakti'. Zakir Hussain also secured the 'Best Global Music Performance' Grammy for his contribution to 'Pashto' alongside Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer and virtuoso flute player Rakesh Chaurasia. So the record stands with Zakir Hussain winning 3 Grammys while Rakesh Chaurasia winning 2! This is historic for them as musicians and for us, as a country, and more than anything, it also put Indian classical music on the map!

The night also had some other highlights like Taylor Swift winning Album of the Year, Billie Eilish winning Song of the Year for 'What Was I Made For?', which she composed for the Barbie movie. Miley Cyrus won her first ever Grammy for Flowers!
