City tackles BEST strike, Twitteratti share slice of action

Even as over 25 lakh commuters that usually take a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST) bus on a daily basis are facing a deficiency of red in their lives, Twitter is coming to their rescue with timely updates.

The BEST workers have been on a strike since the last fours days due to various finance-related reasons including better pay and budget merger issues.

#MumbaiMonorail ridership increases by 79 per cent due to #BESTStrike. Normal raidership is around 14 thousand per day but from Tuesday it is around 25 thousand; that an increase of about 79%. The increase in revenue is from Rs 1 lakhs to Rs 1.72 lakhs. @dna
