Sikandar box office report: Salman Khan starrer registers his lowest opening numbers in years

Salman Khan’s Sikandar failed to create history at the box office. However, it has marked an improvement on day two. Check out the film's overall performance so far! 

Salman Khan’s much-awaited film, Sikandar released on Sunday and despite the hype and getting an Eid release, the film failed to create waves at the box office. Sikandar opened to figures of Rs. 30.06 crore and failed to become the highest opener this year so far. Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava currently sits comfortably at the top with collections of 31 crore on its opening day.

Although Sikandar’s opening figures surpassed Salman Khan’s 2023 outing ‘Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan’s first day collections (Rs 15.81 crore), it fell considerably short of breaching the staggering day one figures of his last release ‘Tiger 3.’ (53 crore).

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film's box office earnings registered a surge on Monday, with a collection of Rs. 33.36 crore. The improvement took the film's total earnings to Rs. 63.42 crore.

Worldwide, the film has opened at ₹54 crore, which is one of Salman Khan’s lowest openings in years. The film’s two days worldwide gross collections stand at Rs.105.89 crore. Given the recent trend for big Bollywood releases, an opening of 40 crore plus was expected from the film given the fact that it was the biggest Hindi release in India with 5,500 screens and approximately 22,000 plus shows per day. However, despite being a festive release, the film does not feature in Khan's list of top 5 as far as opening days are concerned.  

Sikandar marks Salman Khan's return to the silver screen for the first time since 2023. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss (Ghajini and Holiday fame), also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles.
