Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par sees Aamir Khan portraying a basketball coach who mentors a team of ten specially-abled individuals.
Aamir Khan’s latest release Sitaare Zameen Par opened to rave reviews by fans and critics, resulting in a promising run at the box office over the weekend. The film fell short of breaching the 60 crore landmark, however, raked up an impressive 57.30 crore rupee tally in the first three days of its release. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film, which opened to a modest 10.70 crore figures on Friday, witnessed a significant hike throughout the weekend, thanks to positive word of mouth and Khan’s fanbase. Sitaare Zameen Par earned 19.90 crore and 26.70 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The opening numbers however failed to surpass the weekend collection of Khan’s last outing, Laal Singh Chaddha (Rs 61.12 crore) even his acclaimed 2007 film Taare Zameen Par (Rs 62.95 crore). All eyes will be on the film’s performance in the initial phase of this week as it will determine whether it can continue its strong momentum and cross the 100-crore mark soon.

Besides Khan, the film also stars Genelia Deshmukh, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
