New Update
All Her Fault

Starring Sarah Snook, Dakota Fanning and Jake Lucy, All Her Fault’s plot twists have become the talk of the town but there’s more to why everyone’s loving this show!

Directed by Minkie Spiro and Kate Dennis, this terrifying thriller revolves around a woman named Marissa Irvine and how her five year old son, Milo, who was supposed to be on a playdate with his classmate, gets kidnapped. From the first scene itself, the show has this eerie feeling to it and pulls you right into its whodunit world. All Her Fault stars quite a lot of popular faces who we’ve seen in award winning shows before. For instance, Succession’s Sarah Snook plays Marissa Irvine, the mother; Jake Lucy, who we last saw in The White Lotus, plays her husband, Pete Irvine and the father of the child who goes missing. Abby Elliot plays Lia Irvine, his sister, and Dakota Fanning plays Jenny Keminski, the mom who allegedly texts Marissa Irvine about the playdate.

The show is eight episodes long and the plot thickens with each passing episode making it a spooky thriller to watch. While in the first few weeks of its release there wasn’t a lot of buzz around the show, through word of mouth and a lot of hype over the internet, it eventually blew up the show’s existence and made it to so many screens worldwide! Apart from it being a good thriller, there are quite a lot of other elements that stood out to viewers during the course of the show!

There are no filler scenes in this show, everything is a part of the story for a reason

Even if in the beginning certain things make you wonder how it's even connected to the kidnapping, it all ties up towards the end. There are no loose ends here and even the smallest of the small arcs have a bigger purpose.

It appalls you how dads babysit their own children and how the mothers become the default parent

The real horror about All Her Fault isn’t even the kidnapping, it’s how the show holds up a mirror to parenting. Fathers are pushed to show up and after all the nagging, they do the bare minimum and expect applause and endless free time. Mothers, on the other hand, become the default parent because their partners do not equally contribute and they are forced to juggle work, their child’s entire schedule, run errands for the house and take care of their man child too. As Jenny Kaminski says in an impactful scene in the show, his me-time is all about meeting his friends, playing basketball, scrolling on Tik Tok like a teenager and her me-time is getting the groceries and doing laundry. It's nowhere the same and this isn't spoken about enough.

It constantly keeps you guessing what exactly happened and just when you think you know, they throw a plot twist you didn’t see coming!

From the very first scene itself, the show takes over your mind in a way that you start churning your own theories and want to crack the case before the detectives do. You try studying the character’s body language, who seems shady, who is genuinely worried but no matter how much you over think this, the show completely takes you by surprise with its plot twists!

All Her Fault accurately portrays how society always blames the mother, especially if she is a working mom!

There’s no mercy for moms in this world, especially if you’re a working mom! The judgement that comes along with not volunteering enough at school, asking other parents for favors during important meetings or even having a nanny, is all somehow pinned on the mother. This only adds to the already existing mom guilt and causes a deep rooted insecurity of ‘Am I doing enough?’. In an era where we talk about equality and feminism, All Her Fault shows how being at the peak of her career and acing motherhood has become a rather stressful thing to balance for so many women!

This isn’t the kind of show you can watch over a week - it compels you to binge it in one go

All Her Fault is peak binge material. It makes you want to keep going, episode after episode, just to get to the truth of the matter and watch the climax unfold so we can finally get the closure we want before we sleep at night!

The ensemble cast has truly outdone themselves!

The cast in itself is enough for anybody to talk about the show. Seeing Sarah Snook and Dakota Fanning in the same frame definitely wasn’t on our 2025 bingo card but the way these two hold the frame in every scene is one for the books! Jake Lucy as the obsessive, crazy husband and Abby Elliot, who we’ve popularly seen in The Bear, bring their absolute A game to the table. Lastly, Michael Pena as the detective also keeps us gripped from start to finish!

Lastly, Marissa Irvine and Jenny Kaminski are the kind of on-screen female friendships we need to see more often!

On paper, Marissa and Jenny's friendship shouldn't have worked at all. Marissa's son Milo was supposed to be on a playdate with Jenny's son, Jacob. Only that he wasn't and instead gets kidnapped by Jacob's nanny who was obviously hired by Jenny. Even though it isn't Jenny's fault that Milo gets kidnapped, she somehow felt responsible for hiring a psychopath of a nanny even after doing all the right background checks. In her head, Marissa should have hated or probably even sued her.

But Marissa, being a working mother herself, did not blame another for what happened and instead found solace in their friendship. Jenny could have also stayed silent, instead she supports Marissa during her toughest moments in the show. Watching their arc bloom into a beautiful friendship and both of them leaning on each other for help, instead of their lazy partners, is something we need to represent more often on-screen!
