Every year there are movies we love and movies that don’t really make it to our lists at all. Here’s every movie from 2024 that left us confused, bored or angry for a lot of reasons!

If 2024’s content on the big screen had to be summed up, we’d say that we had a fair share of the good, bad and ugly. While re-releases kept us distracted and new movies like Jigra and Stree 2 added meaning to this year, there were movies that left us completely bamboozled and gave us our fair share of disappointments. Sometimes, movies just don’t live up to the expectations we have about them before the release. While you can see the technical work that was put into these films, it fully falls short when it comes to fulfilling its whole potential. But there were also some movies this year that were frighteningly regressive when it came to the story and just left us with a bitter aftertaste post the film.

Check it out!

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Waala Video

The movie, which actually seemed to have a good premise from the trailer at least, proved to be absolutely problematic from the first frame to the last. Inappropriate jokes about women that are somehow supposed to be funny, a random mix of genres for no reason at all, two climaxes and a dragged screen time made this film a total miss this year!

Bad Newz

Some films don’t need a sequel and Bad Newz is proof. Messily trying to carry on the legacy of the 2019 hit film Good Newwz, this one’s anything but like that! With a cast as fun as Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Amy Virk, it seemed like a comical no brainer for the weekend. But the movie questions logic quite literally! How one woman got pregnant with the sperm of two different men just because she slept with them on the same night is a real head scratcher. The only exciting part about this film was Tauba Tauba which was also played at the end.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya

Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor were a fresh pair we got this year. It was Shahid’s return to the rom-com genre after eons. There was nothing to complain about. Until the story was all about how Sifra (Kriti Sanon), was a robot who was built according to Aryan’s (Shahid Kapoor) likes and dislikes. She was tailor made to be his shadow and he fully took that for granted. While the film tried to show that’s what most men expect from their partners, the execution was all over the place and definitely wasn’t the rom-com we were expecting it to be.

Yodha

There’s a scene in this film where Sidharth Malhotra lands a plane right outside the parliament. That should be more than enough for you to know why this one was a tough one to sit through at the theatres.

Murder Mubarak

There was nothing mysterious or funny about this murder mystery, which revolves around a group of elites from the Royal club. It was all about the glamour and style in the film rather than the actual story itself.

Sarfira

Another episode of Akshay Kumar saves the day that hasn’t made its mark. The film had the potential to be a meaningful biopic of the man who started India’s first low cost airline. But thanks to its screen time and the lack of depth in characters, the film hardly makes an impression on you.

Khel Khel Mein

Seven friends reunite at a wedding and to pass time, decide to play a game: everyone must place their phone on the table for the entire night, with every text and call shared openly. As the night unfolds, secrets emerge, and their lives are altered. A ‘comedy of errors’ was simply just a weakly written script that we could’ve done without.

Yudhra

A revenge story that is as old as time. The cast which includes names like Siddhant Chaturvedi, Gajraj Rao, Ram Kapoor, and Raghav Juyal has so much more potential than what the film eventually gave us.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

When it comes to action films, the bar is pretty low in Bollywood. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is just all talk and no meaning. Slow motion shots of Tiger Shroff, action sequences every two minutes, the female leads barely have any part to play at all! But the problem isn’t even all of this, it’s how the makers just assume the audience will consume just whatever in the name of entertainment and this film truly defies science in every way possible.

Sikandar ka Muqaddar

This one had two climaxes as well, but the difference is that till date no one’s figured out what the ending really meant. Watching this diamond heist just felt like waiting in an endless line. For what? Nobody has a clue. It was just a game of who can trick the other better, and there was no winner.
