Janta is in awe of Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s performance, however, is divided over the storyline of Tere Ishq Mein.
Obsessive love as a genre has attracted a lot of attention in Bollywood and Tere Ishq Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon has immediately captured the social media conversation, thanks to its extreme emotional intensity. The film opened to mixed reviews by the critics and the sentiment has been echoed by the audience alike.
Directed by Anand L Rai, the intense romance drama follows Shankar (Dhanush), a violent and obsessive college student, who falls deeply in love with Mukti (Kriti Sanon), a rational psychology scholar attempting to temper his aggression. While the janta is unanimously in awe of performances of the lead, the rest are finding the story unconvincing, full of loop-holes and deeply problematic.
Here's what the Janta is saying about it!
Tere Ishk Mein is frustrating and I can't get over the fact that it's projection of stupidity as something poetic and intense

It's not mad love just STUPIDITY
Just watched Tere Ishk Mein and wow… didn’t expect it to hit this hard. The emotions were insane ❤️🔥

Some scenes felt a bit stretched but the performances made it worth it. The chemistry was fire. Not perfect, but def the kind of intense love story that you shouldn't miss pic.twitter.com/DfNaijxZ56
‘Tere Ishk Mein’ isn’t just watched it’s felt. Every frame bleeds emotion, every moment screams passion. And that dialogue…

Ishq agar aasaan hota, toh dard ka naam hi na hota.
A film that breaks you beautifully and stays in your heart long after it’s over.#TereIshkMeinpic.twitter.com/2vxrA2bDAQ

A brutal, complex, mad, intense & ridiculously heartbreaking love story.
A truly madly kaleidoscope of clumsy, complex and twisted emotions.
The highs are intoxicating, the lows are devastating, and the stakes are life, death or Mukti. pic.twitter.com/7mqqVhvUMI
Kriti Sanon is flawless in Tere Ishq Mein. Legit pulled off role like lady Kabir Singh with intense emotions and her screen presence is something else. Bollywood has finally got its best in all current actresses pic.twitter.com/9dTV5Nvh4N

I watched Tere Ishq Mein and now I’m seeing boys saying they hate Kriti Sanon’s character. But if you’re actually mature, you’ll understand why she rejected him. He was extremely egoistic and had anger issues because of XYZ childhood trauma.

the only good thing about tere ishq mein is kriti sanon and her acting skills

Didn’t like tere ishq mein that much because of the story. One person is going mad in love and the other person is giving mixed signals. But the acting was too good🙌🏻 and tere ishq mein song is so powerful 🫠

‘Tere Ishq Mein’…is definitely the worst film I have ever seen in a theatre. Every second felt like an ordeal, goodness me. I have never ever felt suffocated in a cinema hall, until today. Literal torture chamber.

So I happened to watch Tere Ishq Mein movie today, it's the most wahiyaat movie I've seen in the recent past.

HALF-CENTURY... #TereIshkMein registers an impressive total in its opening weekend... The film has performed very well in urban centres, while mass circuits, too, have contributed majorly over the three days.

With such a powerful start, half the battle is already won... The film… pic.twitter.com/H1SPvfY7Jc
