The White Lotus created by Mike White is one of HBO’s most highly anticipated series and the premiere for its third chapter unfolded on Monday morning. Of course, the Janta had a lot to say!
The White Lotus is a social satirical series about a group of rich guests who stay at the luxurious White Lotus resort chain. Each season has a new cast and is set in a new country altogether. In season 1 we saw things go haywire in Hawaii. In season 2 we were captivated by the beauty of Sicily and everything that can go terribly wrong in a blink of an eye. After the immense success of the first two seasons, the show gathered a huge fan base that waited with bated breath for season 3 to drop. So of course, creator Mike White knew he had to deliver! Season 3 is set amongst the aesthetic and rejuvenating White Lotus in Thailand. The first episode introduced us to the cast of the show and it was chaotic to say the least! We have three girl best friends Jaclyn(Michelle Monaghan),Kate(Leslie Bibb) and Laurie(Carrie Coon), who have arrived for a spiritual getaway but there seems to be a lot of unprocessed tension between the three. Then there are the Ratcliffs, who consist of the dad, Timothy(Jason Isaacs), the snobbish mom, Victoria(Parker Posey) and their three children, who have a weird incestuous equation with one another.
Blackpink’s Lisa plays Mook, who is one of the staff at the hotel alongside Taime Thapthimthong, who plays Gaitok. Aimee Lou Wood plays the free-spirited Brit who is stuck with a brooding Walton Goggins.Belinda(Natasha Rotwell) is back in action this season but as a guest, not a staff member and her son comes to meet her later in the week as shown in the very first scene, when the shootout takes place. Gregg, who plotted and killed Tanya last season, is vacationing in Thailand this time around with his mistress. But something just seems off about him. It feels like any moment any of these characters would be ready to wreck chaos. But we’re hooked to find out who started the shootout in the first place!
This season also has a new theme song and the internet is not happy about it! A lot of iconic shows are known by their theme songs and The White Lotus was one of them. So it goes without saying, the Janta had thoughts about it. The first episode has brought out so many varied thoughts amongst the fans. Everyone’s ready for the drama to unfold and are rather excited to see the new characters who just seem crazy in every way possible! The White Lotus also stirs a lot of theories amongst fans every season and the way this season opened, it has many wondering who could possibly have the guts to kill someone in a retreat centre!
The first episode of white lotus season 3 was so good it makes up for the fact that they ruined my favorite theme song. Is there still time to change that ? I miss the little ceremonial dance we would all do before each episode. It was our ritual.
the floating body is Victoria because she ate the poisonous fruit foreshadowed on the pilot. the shootings involve Rick and or the bodyguards and or.. Greg.
That North Carolina family definitely has some sibling incest going on… I just can’t tell it it’s the two brothers or the older bro who called his sister “hot”
If you can get clues from the intro, the youngest kid is going to die in the white lotus s3. He appears as if he’s drowning in the intro video. I’ll check if my theory becomes a reality by the end of the season.
