Black Adam trailer

Dwayne Johnson's much-awaited DC superhero movie, Black Adam is all set to hit the theatre. And fans are enjoying the release of the trailer.

We have a new superhero in town, or should we say super-villain? Well, that question will be answered when the movie finally opens up in the theatres. But for now, fans are basking in the release of the much-awaited Black Adam trailer. The movie based on the notorious antihero of the DC comics was in a making for some time and has been part of the superhero movies that the fans of the comics have been eagerly looking forward to. With the release of the trailer, they finally get to watch Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock as the supe, Black Adam.

When it comes to the storyline, the trailer shows quite a lot. We get glimpses of his origin story as Black Adam narrates the same. We get to know about his past as a slave and the reason behind his antihero demeanor, the tragic loss of his son is also what drives him to return to Earth after 5000 years of imprisonment. Not to mention the warning when Adam challenges Doctor Fate's, “Heroes don’t kill people,” by responding, “I do.”

Apart from the show of Teth-Adam and his powers, we're also introduced to DC’s first superteam the Justice Society of America crew: Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell).

When it comes to the comics, this character made its first appearance as an ancient and corrupt supervillain in 1945. He was given his extraordinary powers by the wizard Shazam. But as the years progressed, we saw the character development from being a Shazam supervillain to a morally murky antihero. This will be the first time that the Justice Society will be making its big-screen debut. One thing that the fans are also looking forward to is how the film projects the Egyptian roots because Black Adam has the same filmmaker as Moon Knight, which lacked Egyptian representation.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film is set to release on October 19.
