We are living in the 21st century, science and technology are developing in leaps, people are becoming more aware yet there are still those few that think beauty can be defined in numbers and sizes and tones. But thankfully we have some strong personalities around that stand strong to prove them wrong and that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

As the country has matured enough to accept LGBTQ community and respect their freedom, it is also high time people stop judging others on the basis of their looks. Personally, I have witnessed sad incidences of our so called society narrowing eyes on oversized girl wearing a dress or sleeveless clothes.

But the silver lining to this gray cloud is that now we have body positivity influencers that are changing this view and we can’t thank them enough! Take a look at some of these amazing humans:

2. Sonia Mariam Thomas (@sokneeoh)

Fun fact: when I first wore a crop top it was 2015 and it was a busy night out in town. I actually had people stopping to turn and laugh at me, point at me and make disgusted faces. I never wore a crop top in public again, until last year. I remember thinking “when are you going to wear this Aarti?” because I hate drawing attention to myself and this dress, well. But that’s what I admire so much about the Body positive process; you put in the work and little by little you chip away at those niggling insecurities. So when I wore this for birthday brunch, I was splendidly overdressed and shy but feeling kinda awesome too because look at that dress! ? Baby steps, my loves. You’ll get there. P.S: this place I was at brought out all the nostalgia because I spent a small part of my childhood around here ? #fatacceptance #bodypositive #plussize #plussizefashion #mystylishcurves #whatfatgirlsactuallywear #effyourbeautystandards #capricornseason #ootd #fatshion #igsg #sgfashion #rebdolls #woc #losehatenotweight #nobodyshame #vbo #fatbabe #plussizesingapore

Felt like I have evolved to another level this year. A lot of you know that this year was quite difficult for me mentally & physically. But I am so grateful for the ups and the downs. I don’t want to make any promises of who I want to be or what I a want for 2019 all I wish for is to step into power & value myself more than ever. I’m ready for the new chapter and the lessons that 2019 brings. Like always have my back, Let’s do this ❤️? . . #bodypositive #curvygirls #psblogger #instastyle #indianfashionblogger #photooftheday #puneblogger #curvy #bodypositivity #friends #inspiration #travelgram #fashionblogger #plussizefashionblogger #plussizefashionista #plussizefashion #newyearseve #christmasoutfit #hongkonggirl #newyear #newyears #winteroutfit #winter #hongkong #travelblogger #hongkongblogger

I cannot be anything but myself... . While the words used to describe me, may differ from person to person, I can be nothing more to them but myself. . But what is being myself? My-self. How do we know who that is? . I’ve come to understand, that being you, often involves living just for you, which is a concept that should come easily. It’s natures natural way, of keeping us in check, when we think we’ve got it all together. . When we think everything is perfect, we lose sense of security, and our world begins to fall apart. This is because, being secure, isn’t really how life works. We are never truly secure, even in our most secure settings. We are never safe. . But don’t have fear darling (which you will naturally) It’s no reason to worry (which you will) because everything’s gonna be ok! (which it’s not) . It is in these moments, when life has betrayed our sense of security, when you remember to live for yourself. It is near impossible to see the beauty, that everyone else sees, without the struggles. . It is a permanent scratch in your veneer, an imperfection, reminding you forever of the incident. To some, it is something to remove, or to make look correct again. And to some, the imperfection becomes a part of them, something that makes it one of a kind. . Myself, is in the imperfections. It’s what defines who you’ve become. Which is always current and undeniable to your personal growth. And it’s hysterically beautiful because it’s only yours. Unique, and yet the same. But never really the same... You’re own personal stamp on time. . In the words of Dolly Parton: Find who you are and do it on purpose. . #bemyself #findyourself #yourjourney #leaveyourstamp #freeyourmind #yourebeautiful #whoareyou #bodypositive #myidentity #mytruth #writersofinstagram #writer #mywords #femme #trans #girlslikeus #transition #transisbeautiful #fatandhappy #happy #me

Today is day 1. of my #wellnessmyway January. Today is about Commitment. 1. Share Promises, not resolutions that you make for yourself this year. Here are mine. to continue to say no more, so that when I say yes it’s because I’m really 100% in. To learn to be okay with being alone. Maybe eat out alone, go to the cinema alone, do more solo travel. Swim. I bloody love swimming. So who is up for joining me for some outdoor swimming? To get my business finances in order, get an accounting app to save my receipts. Keep up with my spreadsheets. Continue to reduce the amount of meat we eat and improve our environmental impact I’m sure I’ll have more but this is good for now. So...Now it’s your turn, tell me , What promises are you making for yourself for this year? #wellnessmyway #newyearpromises #newyear #progressnotperfection ps if you want to take part in my challenge just let me know and I can DM you the calendar.

‘Squiggle’ - self portraits 2 • The beautiful thing about self-love is that the love is infectious, bleeding out and brightening everything. By loving myself, I’m no longer rejecting photos because I’m not “_____ enough” and instead focusing on the joy and positivity that radiates. I am working on all of these things because I am worthy and beautiful and strong and powerful and real, not because I need to be changed, and not in spite of anything. I am working on finding my value independent from a world that links worth to size. I am working on reminding myself every second of every day that I am worthy of good things happening to me. I am working on accepting the love of a life partner who truly adores me exactly the way I am. I am working on becoming the happiest version of myself, while allowing space to honour every sad, painful, and difficult feeling that happens along the way. ____ Underwear set - @prettylittlething ____ #effyourbeautystandards #selflovebringsbeauty #beautybeyondsize #mystylishcurves #plusisequal #plussizeblogger #psblogger #celebratemysize #plussizefashion #andigetdressed #whowhatwearing #curvyfashion #pltplus #plt #prettylittlething #bodyconfidence #bodypositivity #honourmycurves #celebratemysize #daretowear #skorchmagazine #goldenconfidence #squiggle #fat #plussizelingerie #christmas #plussize #pinkaesthetic #pinkunderwear
