Self-love is sexy and these body positivity influencers are all for it!

The internet has seen a bunch of edited photos, Photoshoped flaws and replaced them with clearer skins and skinnier bodies. But now is the time for truth! In reality, we come in all shapes and sizes, and every 'body' is beautiful! Gone are the days where models had to be only a certain size to be recognized in their field. In today's world, plus-size models and skinny models are also a thing! The body positivity movement has given a true meaning to women empowerment and it encourages women to love their bodies as they are. But still, not all days are the same and sometimes all of us find ourselves not being comfortable in our own skin. It is on those days that you need to take some inspiration for self-love from these body positivity influencers.

If you need some inspiration to celebrate natural beauty, we recommend you follow these body positivity influencers on Instagram -

1. Harnaam Kaur

Living with PCOD isn't easy. Just like every disease, PCOD has certain effects on the body that includes outwardly effects as well. Harnaam Kaur was bullied for her facial hair for years and she opted for various treatments to try and get rid of it until she had had enough. She quickly turned the situation around and hasn't looked back ever since. She is also a Guinness World Record holder for being the first woman to grow a full beard.

2. Neha Parulkar

Redefining the saying - beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, Neha is a plus-size model and a motivational speaker that inspires women to love themselves no matter what their size. She is often seen on Instagram flaunting her curvy body and never tries to hide it from the public eye.

3. Aashna Bhagwani

Famous for 'being curvy and liking it', Aashna Bhagwani has given a very Desi twist to the International market. She is just as fierce as her locks, and she's here to give the other models a run for their money.

4. Dolly Singh

If fat shaming is a real thing, so is skinny shaming. The iDiva star has been shamed about being underweight since forever, but that hasn't let that 'weigh' her down. She charms the world with her unique dressing style and sense of humour.

5. Nidhi Sunil

The society never fails to disappoint us when it comes to looking down on darker skin tones but none of that nonsense could stop Nidhi from venturing out on her own. Facing discrimination on the basis of your skin colour isn't a new thing in India, but she has shut down all the judgmental people in the industry and made a name for herself.

6. Lilly Singh

She's a world-famous YouTuber, comedian and actor, but she wasn't always confident and empowered. She has dealt with years of body image issues and been bullied for being brown. But she has decided to embrace herself for who is she and represents her true self on social media every single day.

7. Payal Soni

Clearly defying the saying - fat girls can't be fashionistas, Payal Soni makes style statements no matter what she wears.

8. Rupi Kaur

She might have become famous for her poems and stories, but Rupi Kaur is surely one of the top influencers on social media promoting body positivity. She is often photographed speaking about natural beauty, menstruation, body hair and everything about women that the commercial world has deemed 'unnatural'.

hairful model: anonymous shot by: rupi kaur ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ if you're interested in being a model for the project and you are from Ontario or London, uk please email info@rupikaur.com. all colours genders body types wanted. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ 'hairful' is a new photo project i've taken up to document the growth and nature of hair on human bodies through photography. with a special focus on brown bodies. as these bodies deal with a unique set of battles and face intersectional struggles that have been kept virtually invisible and non existent within our contemporary medias. from bushy brows to knuckle hair to hair on the rest of the body and face. i look forward to presenting an honest truth of the struggles one goes through to deal with western societal pressures + eurocentric beauty standards of staying naked and 'neat'. how they hurt us. how they come to define us. and how we can move towards a much more positive and accepting view of the nature of our bodies. although i won't be releasing this project online, i look forward to sharing bits and pieces of it here with you from time to time. stay beautiful and shining sweetloves?? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀
