Cannes 2022 day 2 & 3 was stolen by the legendary actors, Tom Cruise and Aishwarya Rai with their much-awaited movie premiere and her red carpet descent.
The opening ceremony and the first day of the Cannes film festival 2022 opened with a huge bang as it was an event that was happening at full capacity and with no restrictions after two years because of the pandemic. Cannes 2022 day 2 & 3 saw the inauguration of the Indian Pavillion, Aishwarya’s entrance, and of course Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick!
Tom Cruise and his film Top Gun Maverick took over the film festival on day 2 worldwide while the descent of the queen of Cannes, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the highlight. R Madhavan’s film Rocketry’s premiere also took place and so much more happened on day 2 and 3 of the Cannes festival other than the looks on the red carpet!
Aishwarya Rai’s arrived at the Cannes in her style
Aishwarya Rai who is a constant at the Cannes for the past two decades now made her appearance in her own style. Both her looks have stunned everyone on the red carpet and beyond it and are making rounds everywhere!
Tom Cruise’s film Top Gun Maverick stole the show all over
The much long-awaited film that was getting postponed because of the pandemic and various other reasons, Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick made its premiere at the Cannes 2022. From the red carpet entrance to the surprise, the Palme d’Or honor given to the actor led to many standing ovations from the audience before even the film premiered. The film got a rapturous 5-min standing ovation!
R Madhavan’s film Rocketry was premiered
R Madhavan’s film, Rocketry based on the story of Shri Nambi Narayan also saw its premiere at the Cannes. The film was praised by the great filmmaker, Shekhar Kapur on Twitter. At the world premiere of his film, the actor was present along with the team of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
Anurag Thakur invited Cannes to India
Union Minister, Anurag Thakur also spoke at length at the inauguration. He emphasized his desire to turn India into a content hub of the world. He also invited everyone present to IFFI Goa 2022.
“We’ll do whatever we can to make India the content hub of the world & to make India the destination of the world for filmmaking, film production&post-production. I extend an open invitation to all to be part of IFFI Goa 2022 (sic). In the case of foreign films that will be shot in India, an additional bonus with a cap of USD 65,000 for employing 15% or more manpower in India (sic).”
Celebs innaugrate Indian Pavillion
The Indian contingent led by Union Minister for I&B, Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur, went on ahead and inaugurated the India Pavilion at the Cannes. The celebs present there include Deepika Padukone, R Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, AR Rahman, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Pooja Hegde, among many others. During the inauguration, Mame Khan, the folk artist sang a piece in which Deepika, Urvashi, Tamannaah, and Pooja danced to the beat.
Deepika in a speech says that Cannes will be in India someday
During the inauguration of the India Pavilion, Deepika Padukone had a lot to say when handed the mic and went on to say, “…there will come a day I truly believe where India won’t have to be at Cannes, but Cannes will be in India.”
Shyam Bengal’s ‘Mujib- The Making of a Nation’ trailer unveiled
The trailer of Shyam Benegal’s film Mujib-The Making Of A Nation was unveiled at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The 90-second trailer was launched at the Indian Pavilion at Cannes.
Pooja Hegde and Aditi Rao Hydari make their official debuts
Pooja hedge made her Cannes red carpet debut and dazzled everyone with her gown while Aditi Rao Hydari posed for the mobile brand that she is promoting.
All in all, the next two days after the opening of the film festival were very busy at the Cannes!
