Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan

From entering the industry with Student of the Year to working in Baby John that's produced by Atlee, Varun Dhawan has always been a stickler for unique experiments!

Varun Dhawan was one of the three students who marked their entry via Karan Johar's Student of the Year. With his comedic style, he is perpetually seen reigning in the 90s Govinda vibe in present times. No wonder his comedy films like Main Tera Hero, Dilwale, and Judwaa 2 have created magic amongst audiences. Apart from his successful stint with comedy, there are many times that he has chosen to do something different and has shown some caliber there too! These films in his filmography represent his experimental side which wants to reign in entertainment keeping in line with his funny persona and this brings out valuable themes. Whether it was Bawaal which divided the audience over its subject matter or Jugjugg Jeeyo, both films focused on talking about marriage troubles and the complications modern couples face.

Here are some films from his filmography that are a testament to Varun's exploratory side!

October

A serene film that tells a story about how a single individual can leave an imprint on someone and change their entire outlook toward life, in October, we saw VD in an entirely new light!

Bhediya

It's one of the few fantasy films from the Bollywood mass commercial space that told us the story of werewolves and, in the wake of it, the threat looming over our environment. In this film, VD's comedy blended perfectly with the fantasy realm!

Badlapur

A revenge thriller about a common man who chooses to walk the path of vengeance after his beloved family is attacked, Badlapur blurs the lines between victim and bloodthirsty villain.

ABCD series

A three-part film series that Varun has been a part of, ABCD is a tribute to the lives and struggles of dancers who work in troupes and participate in competitions. In this series, we've enjoyed his dancing skills combined with his acting powress!

Dhulaniya series

This two-part film series made Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt couple goals for many people. In these films, we get to see Varun essay the roles of typical stereotyped and sexist men who go through a transformation!

Happy birthday Varun Dhawan! Hope you continue to experiment with your films and give us performances that stay with us a while longer!
