Chris Evans' Captain America

Even though he has laid down his shield and walked away (to the moon?) we cannot help but acknowledge the legacy of Chris Evans' Captain America.

Can you believe it's been four years since Avengers Endgame was released and we still can't get over the superheroes that shaped the MCU that we so admire today? A lot of us are still revisiting the Avengers movies and finding ourselves mesmerised by the story because of how well the makers were able to adapt the comics to live action. Apart from them, most of our love for the characters comes from the actors who graciously portrayed them onscreen. That is why Chris Evans' Captain America will always be in the top league. And when it comes to simping over Chris' Captain, we can surely do it all day!

Christopher Robert Evans' filmography involves a combination of rom-com, thrillers, and drama over the years. With his boyish charms and playful persona, he has been part of movies that made us fall in love and at times smash his head through the wall. A drug addict, a college schmuck, a survivalist in a post-apocalyptic world, a ruthless villain, a dotting uncle, and even a rich brat with an amazing jumper collection who killed his grandfather, we have seen Chris in all shapes and sizes. He has always managed to expand his horizon while playing characters onscreen and managed to be on opposite sides and still rule our hearts. But one character of his who we have come to recognise and always associate him with is Marvel's, Captain America.

Cap was not the first super powered person that Chris played onscreen. Before he became Marvel's favourite American patriot, he appeared as other comic book characters that fans have equally enjoyed. His role as Human Torch in the Fantastic Four series was a hit among the fans. The master hacker and master of disguise Jake Jensen in The Losers highlighted his singing skills (one of his other elevator scenes that people can’t have enough of). The arrogant second evil ex of Ramona Flowers, Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World has to be one of his best comic-to-movie adaptation characters. He surely “raised some eyebrows” with how well he played the character.

Marvel has moved to Phase 4 and the iconic shield has been passed along a few hands before Sam Wilson took over. Even though we love Sam’s Cap and can’t wait to see how his character will play along the future of Marvel, we can't help but remember Chris Evans' Captain America. There was something about him that will always be OG and even Sam agrees to this.

As we celebrate the actor’s birthday today, we listed a few reasons as our defense.

He was always respectful of his fellow team mates
