The IFP Festival 2023's creator panels, 'The Road to Success' and 'The Creator's Guide To Becoming a Brand' gave us so much insight into their individual journeys!

People who love entertainment and want to know more about this world know and appreciate events that are organised to discuss it in detail. The IFP Festival 2023 that happened during the weekend was the 13th season of the festival that holds discussions, panels and workshops for individuals to know more about what is happening in and around the world of storytelling. Like the previous seasons, this season had an incredible lineup of creators with an enriching experience in the digital world who delved deeper into what the industry holds. Attendees had the opportunity to gain insights, inspiration, and firsthand knowledge from these luminaries about everything happening in the content world. Two such panels ‘The Road to Success’ and ‘The Creator’s Guide to Becoming A Brand’ had creators share their insights on their journey to becoming one of the OPS of the creator arena and discussing the 'how' and 'what' of becoming a brand of their own.

Creators Radhika Bangia, Srishti Garg, Vishnu Kaushal, and Yuvraj Dua who were a part of ‘The Road to Success’ panel, shared the pros and cons of choosing to create content for a living. From sharing content for friends on Snapchat to getting inspired by a movie to change their career path, these creators talked about everything that led to their digital journey. When asked what mistakes were made at the beginning of their journey that people can avoid, Vishnu Kaushal said, "One thing I feel like I could have done more of was to post more consistently instead of being micro focussed on the quality of content and making at that point of time. Because what happens is that when you're an artist or a creator, you're in your head a lot. You can't be a creator and a critic at the same. So you need to create, put it out in the world, let people see it, let yourself redeem it and then make something else again."

Sristhi Garg spoke a little about getting into the trap of wanting to go viral. "I make my own content. So the well-thought-out and produced content hardly works. But there is a Reel that I shared that hit 1 million views, which is the stupidest content I have shared and it is viral. That is why I have stopped caring about numbers because you can predict what will work." When it was a conversation about creating niche content, Radhika Bangia said, "I got familiar with Korean culture because of my best friend. During lockdown, since there wasn't much to do I started watching Kdramas and it became like an addiction. I was like, 'Yeh Korean hai kon dekhta hoga.' I was pretty sure it was just a bunch of people so I was just enjoying it with it having nothing to do with content. But I decided to put one content out and the response was overwhelming."

Ankush Bahuguna, Suhani Shah, Dolly Singh, Parul Gulati and Malini Agarwal who were a part of 'The Creator's Guide To Becoming a Brand' panel have found their own way around understanding how to capitalize on their talent and stories they have to share. How they decide on it, though? Malini Agarwal said that it's about finding the answers to four questions and writing it down - 'What do I love to do?, What am I good at?, What can I be paid to do? What does the world need?'

Meanwhile, for Dolly Singh, it was all about the joy of making her characters and writing sketches. "I think initially only a few brands that I started working with and I always put my foot, you know, on the ground that these, these are the things I will do. This is something that I will not do and this is the way I work. But I think just the joy that I was getting working in this because I have done those other jobs."
