As part of YouTube Spotlights Rising Gen Z Artist, Pragati Nagpal became one of three Indians to be recognised at the YouTube’s Foundry Class of 2025.

Chosen from among millions of emerging voices across Asia, Pragati Nagpal stands out as one of the only three Indian artists, for her breakthrough journey, distinctive sound, and ability to connect with massive audiences.

YouTube has announced its Foundry Class of 2025, featuring Pragati Nagpal, a Gen Z singer-songwriter who represents the new face of Indian pop. The Foundry program, known for identifying and nurturing breakthrough talent globally, selected just three artists from India this year, with Pragati recognized for her creative growth, strong digital presence, and consistent audience engagement.

Pragati began her journey uploading acoustic covers from her home during the lockdown. Within a few years, she evolved from an online performer to a full-fledged pop artist, releasing original tracks, collaborating with Armaan Malik on Pehla Nasha 2.0, representing India at the Cannes Film Festival, and touring nationwide with Himesh Reshammiya. Her ability to connect with audiences through honest storytelling and relatable songwriting has made her one of India’s most promising young voices.

“YouTube has been such a big part of where it all started for me,” said Pragati. “It’s where I learned, grew, and met people who believed in my music. Being part of Foundry 2025 feels like a full-circle moment, and a new start at the same time.”

YouTube Foundry is the platform’s flagship global artist development initiative that supports emerging musicians with creative funding, mentorship, and promotional visibility. The program helps artists experiment, grow their reach, and build sustainable careers and has been instrumental in shaping the journeys of several globally recognized names.

Joining Pragati in this year’s India cohort are Chaar Diwaari (Garv Taneja), a Delhi-based hip-hop artist known for his experimental sound, and Tanishka Bahl, an indie-pop musician blending contemporary pop with Indian influences. Together, they represent the diversity and innovation shaping India’s evolving music landscape.

With this milestone, Pragati Nagpal continues to strengthen her place in India’s upcoming music scene turning her digital beginnings into a dynamic, real-world career that reflects the ambition and artistry of a new generation.
