'Tis the season to embrace the beauty of the season, and we ask content creators to share what makes them fall in love with Christmas!
Not all of us have the same idea of Christmas. While for many it is part of their yearly tradition for others it’s what winters mean to them. From the early morning mass to the eagerness to look forward to the Christmas dinner, there is a lot that gets people excited for the season. For me, Christmas is all about pretty lights, reds, a reason to have more hot chocolate, and the excitement of waiting for Secret Santa celebrations. But it's mostly about going on a Christmas movie marathon while putting the AC on the right temperature so I can wrap myself under a blanket and feel the coziness of the season. There’s definitely a desire to be invited to a friend's house so I can experience the traditional Christmas menu, but having plum cake with some whiskey by the side isn’t too bad either.
Like me, everyone's idea of what and why they love Christmas can be different. No matter what your idea of the festivity is, one thing that stays the same is how you want to celebrate it around the people you love. It may have it’s own meaning to our content creators too, so to know what this season means to them, we asked content creators Rachel D'Cruz, Sheena and Reshma Mariam John.

Here's what they had to share about the holidays!
Rachel D'Cruz, "The thing that excites me the most about Christmas is decorating the house with my parents. We love art so we always find different ways to decorate our house every year and sometimes even DIY a few of the decorations. We literally do everything TOGETHER decorating, making sweets, going to church, and then coming home after mass to cut a cake at 12 AM. The best part is dressing up for Christmas mass and my favourite Christmas memory is when I coincidentally matched my outfit with my dad's, and then my mom was jealous because she didn’t wanna feel left out so she changed her outfit last minute just to match us (laughs).
Christmas is sort of gonna be incomplete this year because my dad passed away over a year back but in his memory, we will celebrate Christmas just the way he did! We know he’s watching over us from above and sending blessings. Also when I was small my parents used to place gifts under the tree at night and tell me Santa left them when I woke up in the morning so later I started doing the same with them."
Reshma Mariam John, "Christmas has always been a time for family, and even though I'm in Canada this year, away from my loved ones, I’ve come to cherish the small moments that make this season magical. From cozying up with holiday films to decorating my space, it’s the little traditions that bring warmth. It’s all about spreading joy, and I’m excited to celebrate the season, no matter the distance!"
Sheena, "Christmas comes with mixed emotional since I live away from home. I can’t always go back, so as soon as the year end seeps in, I start thinking about how I can make it special away from home. I think dressing up changes my mood instantly so I love snuggling into a cute sweater & ordering myself some cake while I watch holiday rom coms. Sometimes it’s not too bad to celebrate with yourself, I am excited to tuck myself in bed & have a mini party with myself."
Tell us why you love Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone!
