From a miscommunication that turned a University into a meme to a Japanese monkey and its plushie stealing the world's heart, this week had us scrolling nonstop.

Netizens hate to be left idle, but the trends this week left them scrolling through their feeds. From learning the steps of Raindance to understanding the multifaceted POVs of a glass, here are the trends that dominated our feed.

The stranger things from Galgotias University

The Galgotias University made headlines when it featured a Chinese robo-dog as its own innovation at the India AI Impact Summit 2026. After being called out on social media, they were quick to clarify that it was a miscommunication from their side. However, before the matter could even get a bit colder, footage of a thermocol drone presented as an AI-powered drone came from the summit, making them a laughing stock on the internet. Since then, netizens have been taking digs at them nonstop, given that they presented themselves as a prestigious university of India with innovation at its centre.

First in the bloodline

The night after Mahashivratri, the internet woke up to witness something so bizarre they couldn't believe their eyes for a while. It was the surprise cameo of American Singer SZA and her family at Isha Mahashivratri. While SZA had met Sadhguru before, seeing her dance and pour her heart out left the internet with one thought, "First in my bloodline to witness this," giving birth to this trend. It was during this time that she came up with the iconic and now trendy line, "Shambhu! Can I get a Shiv Shambhu?!"

While shocking, SZA is believed to be spiritual by nature and has been seen actively participating in religious and spiritual proceedings regardless of any faith.

Trends that were too hard to resist:

That cool Indian girl

What started with riding a JCB and drinking coconut water on a horse, Diya Joukani, with her fit-check videos, has travelled around the globe, with everyone wanting to be like her, cool and nonchalant.

That glass in every video

Seeing a glass and the water in it can tell a lot about who you are, but this trend goes beyond that, showing the various POVs this glass has been through.

Monkey and his plushie

A young Japanese monkey was seen being bullied by other monkeys. While netizens were sad by the sight, the story behind why he ran to an orangutan plushie has left the internet sobbing and filled with the urge to protect that baby.

The Raindance trend

The song Raindance by Dave and Tems took over the world like a storm, and content creators were very quick to add some simple yet sick moves to this bop song.

Music that left us grooving:

'Ramadan kareen bro'

Vishal & Shekhar, Shreya Ghoshal, Sona Mohapatra | Bahara

Pritam, Antara Mitra | Kaddu Katega
