From creators hitting major milestones to social media platforms rolling out new features, this week highlighted key shifts in the digital creator space.

Masoom Minawala Mehta is set to speak at the World Woman Davos Agenda 2026, alongside the World Economic Forum. Bravee by House of Beauty has appointed Simran Balar Jain as its brand ambassador. She will represent the brand and promote its products through real life storytelling focused on everyday women. Sakshi Shivdasani and Naina Bhan unveiled their newly designed studio in collaboration with the Orange Tree.

YouTube has rolled out several new updates, including changes to its Promote feature and a new AI-powered image-to-video tool for Shorts. On the Promote front, YouTube is adding interest-based targeting for boosted videos. Creators can now promote clips to viewers based on specific interests such as gaming, beauty, or travel, making it easier to reach relevant communities. These targeting options are currently available only on desktop, with a mobile rollout planned soon.

Separately, YouTube is testing a new AI feature called “Ingredients” that lets users turn still images into short video clips. Creators can select up to three images and automatically combine them into a video, with optional sound, offering a simple new way to create Shorts. Meanwhile, Instagram has also released its first Edits update of 2026, expanding what creators can do inside the app. The update introduces built-in linking within videos, along with new visual effects and more flexible storyboard tools. The standout change is that videos edited in Edits can now include clickable links, making it easier for creators to connect viewers to other content or destinations directly from their clips. X has moved to curb misuse of its AI chatbot Grok by placing new limits on its image generation tools. As of January 15, xAI has restricted Grok from producing or altering explicit visuals involving real people, with additional safeguards stopping edits to images of identifiable individuals in suggestive clothing. The decision comes amid increasing concern from regulators and critics over the spread of sexually explicit deepfakes linked to the tool.
