From creators announcing new projects to platforms testing out features, here’s everything that caught our attention on social media this week.
Apoorva Mukhija teased her upcoming chat show, Spice It Up, which is set to stream on JioHotstar. Sakshi Keswani also shared the news of her next theatre project, Kaali Shalwar. The shows will be performed in both Delhi and Mumbai in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Viraj Ghelani also announced his upcoming stand-up show, That’s So Viraj, that will take place in Dubai on November 2, 2025.
Instagram recently rolled out a new feature, Map, which allows users to discover trending locations, businesses, and geo-tagged posts, while also controlling who can see their last active location. Since the rollout, the feature has raised privacy concerns among many users. Meanwhile, Instagram head Adam Mosseri has hinted that the platform could soon launch a dedicated TV app as it continues to double down on Reels and expand in the Indian market. Speaking at the Bloomberg Screentime conference in Los Angeles, Mosseri said, “If behavior and consumption on these platforms are shifting to TV, then we need to move to TV too.” While he clarified that nothing is confirmed yet, the move would mark Instagram’s attempt to take its vertical video experience from mobile to television screens.
This week at Lakmē Fashion Week, in partnership with FDCI, several familiar faces from the creator space took over the runway. Devansh Kamboj and Maggi walked for Tarun Tahiliani’s Tasva show, Sakshi Sindwani was part of Lakmé Salon X Itrh’s showcase Noor, while Nitibha Kaul walked for Rina Dhaka.Juhi Godambe, too, was seen on the ramp for Mahima Mahajan. These were just a few among the many creators who made their presence felt across shows this season.
