Deepika Padukone to dawn the role of Draupadi

Bollywood to witness another epic as Deepika Padukone prepares to play Draupadi in a film that narrates Mahabharat in the female perspective. This will be her third production after Chhapaak and '83.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is all set to make history, like literally! After announcing her debut as a producer with Chhapaak that talks about the story of an acid-attack survivor and activist Laxmi Agarwal and '83 that talks about the veteran cricketer Kapil Dev, she is all set to get into the shoe again. She will be producing the adaptation of the epic Mahabharat and will be playing the iconic mythical character of Draupadi.

In this adaptation, the story of this epic will be conveyed through the female perspective. Deepika Padukone who has portrayed strong female characters in movies like Cocktail, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavat etc will give life to another strong female character with this movie. She said, “I’m absolutely thrilled and honoured to be essaying the role of Draupadi. I truly believe that it is the role of a lifetime".
