Drishyam 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu released on the big screens on November 18. Let’s have a look if the Janta liked the Salgaonkar family back in action once again!
Drishyam 2 is the sequel to Drishyam, the 2015 film which was adapted from a Malayalam thriller of the same name and is directed by Abhishek Pathak. The story has continued from where it left us seven years ago! Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) emerges from a police station carrying a shovel. Seven years ago, the almost-perfect crime had a witness, and that’s what gives the police good enough evidence to re-open the Sameer Deshmukh missing-case investigation so many years later. Vijay now owns a theatre and dreams of making a movie of his own as well. His elder daughter Anju (Ishita Dutta) is still dealing with PTSD from what their family had to deal with. While his younger daughter Anu (Mrunal Jadhav) is in her teens. Every member of the family, including his wife Nandini (Shriya Saran), is trying their best to go back to their normal lives but with one eye always open. A series of unexpected events turn the Salgaonkars’ lives upside down when a truth threatens to change everything.
Even the support Vijay received from his community seven years ago, begins to dwindle, and they begin to question if he actually committed the crime. The plot thickens when the police investigation led by Inspector General of Police Tarun Ahlawat (Akshaye Khanna), and Sameer’s mother and former IG Meera (Tabu), swings into action.
The Janta found the story to be just as gripping as the first film and the story was an absolute nail-biter for them. The Janta also showered praises for Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Akshaye Khanna’s performances in the film.
