While Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-luminati India tour gets sold out in under a minute, we chanced upon Alia Bhatt's Instagram post where she announced her next collab with the singer for her newest film, Jigra. Given how iconic their first collab went on to become, the world isn't ready for this one! Our favorite stand up comedian and actor, Vir Das is going to be first Indian to host the International Emmy awards this year! 

In other news, the Atlee directorial, Jawan will be released in theatres in Japan this November. Back home, Rana Daggubati's Spirit Media acquires Indian rights to the Cannes Grand Prix winner 'All We Imagine As Light' directed by Payal Kapadia. This and so much more happened over the week!

Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar announce their newest film 'Bhooth Bangla'

14 years later, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan come together for yet another horror comedy - Bhooth Bangla where Akshay plays the protagonist who gets entangled in a comedy of errors. This iconic duo has previously worked on Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, and Bhagam Bhag, all of which have gone on to be superhits. Bhooth Bangla is slated for release in 2025 and also stars Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav! It's produced by Balaji Telefilms and Akshay Kumar's Cape of Good Films.

Atlee's Jawan will be released on the big screens in Japan

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles, the hightest grossing film of 2023, Jawan will now be released in theatres in Japan this November. Shah Rukh Khan announced this release on his social media with this message, "Ek kahani justice ki...vengeance ki...villain aur hero ki...Ek kahani Jawan ki...Aa rahi hai Japan ke theatres mein pehli baar!!!
Toh ab reh gaya bas ek sawaal- Ready-ah? The fire & action you all loved is making a massy massy massy arrival in Japan! #Jawan hits the screens in Japan on 29th Nov, 2024!"

Diljit Dosanjh and Alia Bhatt to collab for Jigra

Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in pivotal roles and is slated for release on October 11, 2024! This film will also mark Diljit Dosanjh and Alia Bhatt's second collaboration after Udta Punjab, according to the snippet shared by Bhatt on her Instagram which shows the two of them on the Jigra set.

Ajay Devgn starrer 'Raid 2' slated for release in February 2025

This crime thriller is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and it also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor, while it brings back Ajay Devgn's Amay Patnaik to the big screens on February 21, 2025. 

Netflix partners with Raj & DK for action fantasy drama 

Netflix teams up with Raj & DK for its first action-fantasy series, Rakt Bramhand - The Bloody Kingdom, a series that promises a gripping, edgy narrative set against the backdrop of a fantastical kingdom with bloody action and spectacular visuals. Here's what Raj & DK had to say about this collaboration, “This is uncharted territory which makes it all the more thrilling for us! Our goal is to develop a fictional world that is both original and reminiscent of the fantastical tales we have heard in our childhood. We are having an amazing time working with the very talented Rahi and our uber versatile partner Sita to bring this unique vision to life. Sobhita Dhulipala starrer 'Love Sitara' trailer released

Love Sitara gives us Sobhita Dhulipala playing the role of an aspiring bride from Kerala who falls in love with a Punjabi chef in this romance drama. Besides Dhulipala, this film also stars Rajeev Siddhartha, Sonali Kulkarni and B Jayashree and will be directed by Vandana Kataria and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. It delves into modern relationships, intergenerational conflicts and dysfunctional families and will be available for streaming on Zee 5 from September 27, 2024. 

Vir Das to host the International Emmy awards

Stand up comedian and actor, Vir Das becomes the first Indian to be hosting the International Emmy awards 2024. The actor took to his Instagram to share the news with his fans. Here's what he wrote, "Thanks to your support, an Indian Emmy Host 🇮🇳🙏 I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! Crazy. Thank you for having me. Tremendously honoured and excited!"
