Big B yesterday took to Twitter to unveil the short film ‘Family Made at Home’ starring superstars from the Indian Film Fraternity with the motive to educate and urge their fans to stay at home, maintain hygiene and practice social distancing in the times of pandemic. The underlying agenda of the short film was also to highlight that the Indian Film Industry is like a big family and the seniors of the family are at the lookout of the daily wage workers of this industry.

The made-at-home film revolves around the entire family’s efforts to find Amitabh Bachchan’s black pair of sunglasses.

The film also features celebrated actors from different industries. Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Alia Bhatt, Diljit Dosanjh from Bollywood, Rajinikanth from Tamil cinema, Mohanlal and Mammootty from Malayalam cinema, Chiranjeevi from Telugu cinema, Shiva Rajkumar from Kannada cinema, Prosenjit Chatterjee from Bengali cinema and Sonalee Kulkarni from Marathi cinema and conceptualised and virtually directed by the very talented Prasoon Pandey.

While sharing the video Big B mentioned, “When you see that the cause is greater than the idea you dreamt of .. there is just immense joy and gratitude for all my colleagues and friends in the making of this historic effort !

As mentioned earlier, the industry has raised a fund to the daily wage workers to support them during this time. He said, “There’s another reason why we made this film. The Indian film industry is one, we are all one family. But there is another large family behind us which supports us and works with us, and that is our workers and daily wage earners, who are facing great difficulty due to the lockdown. We all have come together and teamed up with sponsors and TV channel to raise a fund. This fund will be distributed to our workers and daily wage earners to provide them some relief in these tough times.”

The initiative is supported by Sony Pictures Networks India and Kalyan Jewellers and was aired across Sony Networks on Monday night.
