Sabyasachi is, without a doubt, one of the most prolific Indian fashion designers, and today, we deep dive into his best work in the past two decades!
Almost every girl in our country dreams of wearing a Sabya on her wedding day. Thanks to all the celebrity weddings that have ruined us and our standards, we refuse to accept anything below the royalty he brings to the table. But Sabyasachi Mukherjee, is more than just someone who makes ethereal wedding dresses. He is one of a kind in his field who put Indian handicrafts and designs on the global map. He has not only made a name for himself in his country but also set standards abroad. He is the first Indian designer to make heads turn at the Met Gala, he is the go-to collaborator for luxury brands from the west, and has also ticked off acting from his bucket list.
Honestly, seeing his body of work, he deserves all the recognition that comes his way. His clothing is beyond what any of us could have ever imagined. Anyone who owns it has only felt honored and privileged to be able to adorn his work. Being a Bengali, he takes so much inspiration from his Bong culture and his classic red lehenga with the Bengal tiger at the top will always be his trademark style. His flagship stores are just as mesmerizing as his clothes and most feel lucky to be allowed to even enter that space. It's the amount of thought that he puts into each and everything that he does that sets him apart from the rest. This designer also gives the people who bring his clothes to life their due credit.
