From a good pair of shoes to knowing the color theory, Rishija Mehrotra shares her list of must-have style accents people should own.
Someone said, “You can have anything in life if you are dressed well” and it seems like a legit reason to splurge on that beautiful bag that you wanted all along. Fashion is not just about luxury but something that allows you to put on that extra layer of confidence. When you walk into a room, it feels good to know that people appreciate your fit because this changes your mood for the entire day. One fab thing about fashion is also that you need not own an expensive piece to look like a 100 bucks. Content curator and fashion commentator, Rishija Mehrotra believes that it can be done by just owning a few style accents to elevate the most basic looks.
Rishija talks extensively about the stories behind each design and she's an advocate for timely pieces that help one accentuate their look. As someone who experiments with her personal style too, Rishijia understands how styling elements that one owns is important. That's exactly why she lists down 6 basic must-have style accents that should make it into one's closet to keep the fashion goddesses happy.

Waistcoat - An essential piece of clothing, the waist coat is what your wardrobe definitely needs. Multiple ways of styling can be explored with them. Tip - a halter neck waistcoat will do wonders!
Chunky waist belt - It has the power to elevate a basic outfit.
Tailored trousers - A good pair of trousers, be it any colour, can flatter the whole outfit. Tip - Body suits are a trousers' partner in crime.
Silhouette - understanding which silhouettes suit you the best is very important. The only way to understand this is by experimenting with various types of fits and trends. Silhouettes shape and define your whole outfit.
Understanding your color theory - This does not mean that you need to only stick to colors that suit you. You can try the 80:20 ratio for this. For example, if blue is your color, then let 80% of your outfit can be ruled by blue and to color block the outfit, you can go ahead with a handbag, heels, or an overall with another color. Color blocking is a very effective way to make yourself stand out in the crowd.
Tip - Do not invest or stick with micro trends
Creating your version of the trend - Never copy-paste trends or try someone else’s outfit on yourself. Find a way to add your element to it! Wearing clothes that make you feel confident and happier is the way to go.
Good pair of heels - I am a heels girly and can't help but invest in a good pair of heels. According to me, strappy heels, pointed-toe and sling-back heels, and one embellished pair of heels are a must.
