When Shah Ruk Khan and Deepika Padukone made the Indian audiences and people around the world shake a leg to the lungi dance, little did the South Indians know that one of their dearest attire will create a stir all over the world. While it is still not acceptable to sing this song when you meet a South Indian (along with calling them a Madrasi) we can’t ignore but appreciate the song, for it made lungi popular among the people. But we are not here to talk about lungi, we are here to talk about Mundu or Veshti which BTW is a classier version of lungi. Every time people meet a South Indian, apart from talking about Idli, Sambar and Andakunda (we don’t speak like that, btw!) one thing that excites them is Mundu.
