Fawad Khan

Fawad Khan aka the national crush that we need back in India is that actor who had immense power to become another star power in India!

Twinkle Khanna once asked Karan Johar on Koffee With Karan about how if she added one more Khan to the list of Khan's aka Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan, would Fawad Khan be his favorite then! And even if that was mentioned in fun, it's not impossible to believe that Fawad could have been added to this ultimate list of 'Khans' if only he could stay back in India. There is no doubt that the general public consensus has forever been asking to bring him back to India but the love for his work beyond borders has only increased.

But did you know that much before he got into acting, he was a computer programmer? He was a shy guy born in the family of Pathans in Pakistan's Punjab. And much before he started a full fledged career in acting, he was part of a band called Entity Paradigm as a lead singer and that's when he won various accolades. He started his acting career with the TV serial Jutt and Bond and went on to do films like Khuda Kay Liye (2007), and other popular TV dramas like Dastaan (2010), Humsafar (2011), and Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012). His two TV dramas Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai made him quite popular in India as well and he landed the lead role in Khoobsurat (2014) alongside Sonam Kapoor.

Even though he entered Bollywood as a prince charming in the film, his depiction of a tired prince under the burden of his family and status was fairly unique and much appreciated. His characters have always been different from how heroes are usually portrayed even while they are set up in a cliche format yet they offer originality and something fresh. With Rahul Kapoor, the queer writer who hadn't come out in Kapoor and Sons, he broke all norms not just for himself but for Bollywood as well which wasn't used to seeing heroes in queer roles. He brought a change and that too with so much ease and then we saw him as a DJ in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which was also a refreshing change as this was not a lead role but a supportive one but he played it with the same charm and dedication.

Fawad Khan is a charming, magnetic, and simplistic personality with an acting prowess that fits all too easily in any role. His eyes look at you in a way that no one else's do with the exception of Shahrukh Khan. Unfortunately because of political unrest between India and Pakistan, Fawad had to go away from Bollywood much before he could shine brighter for us. But after a long hiatus, we recently got to see him in projects like MS Marvel and The Legend of Maula Jatt. He isn't afraid of change and adapts very quickly and you can't help but fall in love with him each and every time. He married his childhood sweetheart and has a clothing brand with her as well.

We could only hope that we get to see more of this enigmatic entertainer onscreen and if we could bring him back to Bollywood then that would be the cherry on the cake! Here's wishing Fawad Khan a very Happy Birthday!
