Ever imagined your life as a pastel-toned film while listening to your favorite song? Hải Ly’s videos feel just like those daydreams coming to life.

You know those random boring Sundays when you're just listening to music and when you close your eyes, you become a music video director? Like, you’re the main character in a music video and it’s all playing out in your head. I’d love to believe that this is a universal thing, something we all do quietly but never really talk about and it’s wild how creative we can be when we do that. It felt the same when I came across videos by Vietnamese creator Hải Ly.

While a lot of people are drawn to her aesthetic photo inspirations, what really caught my eye is how her videos feel like they’re pulled straight from the kind of music videos I would imagine in my own head. There is something so personal and cinematic about them, the way she uses dreamy pastel colours that wrap the whole frame in a soft glow, and how her editing feels smooth and intentional, like you’re drifting from one mood to another. Her choice of music always fits like a glove and we love the little graphic touches she adds, whether it's handwritten notes, floating doodles, or sparkly details that feel like thoughts spilling out on screen. 

Watching her videos feels like stepping into someone’s daydream or like someone has given form to our own internal daydreams. In a way, it reminds me that we all have that same kind of imagination tucked away that makes us want to romanticize the ordinary parts of life a little more.
