Gangubai Kathiawadi case: Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali summoned by Mumbai Court

Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi teaser had been released recently and the film is already in a legal battle.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film Gangubai Kathiawadi teaser has already released and while it is receiving great reviews from fans it also is in a legal bind. The film that stars, Alia Bhatt in a prominent role, is in legal trouble ever since the makers have released the first poster of the film. Babuji Shah, who claims to be Gangubai Kathiawadi’s adopted son, had filed a lawsuit. It seeks a permanent injunction restraining order against the filmmakers and Mafia Queens of Mumbai author Hussain Zaidi, but it was dismissed by the Bombay Civil Court.

In a recent development to the case, Shah has claimed that the film has shown his family in a wrong way and it is also factually incorrect. He has also filed a petition in this regard. The Mumbai court has now summoned Bhatt, Bhansali, and Zaidi and asked them to be present in the court on May 21, 2021.
