The murder case of journalist Gauri Lankesh saw an update after an accused, Rushikesh Devdikar was arrested on Thursday.
Police have arrested a new accused in the murder case of journalist Gauri Lankesh. The journalist was shot dead on 5th September 2017, by one of a gang member who was inspired by a book written by a ring-wing group Sanatan Sanstha. The book identified Lankesh as durjan, an evil person. The SIT, Special Investigation Team stated that the accused Rushikesh Devdikar also known as Murali who was absconding was arrested from Katras in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. His house is being searched to find any clue related to the case. Rushikesh is part of the conspiracy in killing the journalist and is the 18th accused in the murder case. It is also reported that the gang was also planning on killing a number of other people.
