Twitterati paid their respects after Indian actor and comedian Jagdeep J passes away.

One of Bollywood's veteran actors and comedian Jagdeep J. passed away on Wednesday. He was suffering from age-related ailments and was not keeping well for a while. Unfortunately, the actor stumbled to his illness at 8.30 pm in his residence.

The actor who has been part of 400 films gained popularity with his role as Soorma Bhopali in the 1975 film Sholay. His real name was Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri but he was known with his stage name Jagdeep.

Jagdeep has also played memorable roles in movies like Andaz Apna Apna and Purana Mandir. He started his acting career as a child artist and debuted as a child extra with B. R. Chopra's Afsana. And thereafter appeared in a bunch of movies as a child artist. His role in Hum Panchi Ek Dal Ke achieved great recognition and appreciation. Jagdeep went on to play the leading role in various movies after Bhabhi, Barkha and Bindaya. And it was only after the movie Brahmachari, that he established himself as a comedian, winning hearts.
