Janta is unanimously moved by 120 Bahadur's earnesty, however, is unimpressed by Farhan Akhtar's casting in the lead.
As high-octane actioners and war dramas have become the go-to genre for Bollywood, last week saw the release of Razneesh Ghai’s 120 Bahadur, which explored the historic Rezang La Battle in 1962, where just 120 Indian soldiers, led by Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, valiantly took on the Chinese troop of 3000 soldiers.
The film opened to mixed reviews from the critics, and the sentiment has been echoed by the audiences as well. While the critics and viewers are unanimously praising the cinematography that captures the beauty of Ladakh and the neatly shot and choreographed war sequences, some can’t help but point out the slow pace and unengaging screenplay of the film, especially the pre-interval part. While people are praising the film for its sincere efforts in highlighting the valour and sacrifice of our unsung heroes, others are unimpressed by Farhan Akhtar’s casting as the lead Major Shaitan Singh.
Here's what the Janta is saying about it!
120 Bahadur is a well intentioned film and pays a sincere tribute to the soldiers, but as a complete experience it doesn’t fully land.

The film feels caught between tones, reaching for an edgy war drama with strong visuals, yet it still slips into overused Bollywood tropes. The… pic.twitter.com/URnTzBMauU
120 Bahadur left me in tears — 120 men fighting 3000 like lions. Bravery that echoes forever. 🇮🇳🔥#120Bahadurpic.twitter.com/67KE0s7lf5

#120Bahadur is all about 3000 vs 120. Came with high expectations & it's heartening that the movie rises above all limitations. Last half will remind you "sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab humare dil mein hai". A brilliant storytelling of bravery and sacrifice. @FarOutAkhtar

Bwood rarely makes good movies. specially war movies without jingoism. 120 bahadur is an exception. Everything was top notch from the acting to the framing of each scene. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/Ld1HT3IcIV

A good film which is respectfully made, but doesn’t quite become a knockout due to routine tropes & formulaic treatment. The war sequences are outstanding coupled with brilliant cinematography. Good performances & focused storytelling make it a decent watch. pic.twitter.com/BZLMV2v0zt
Watched 120 Bahadur, stirring chronicle of one of worlds great last stand battles

Wish the soldiers had deeper character arcs,it never fully let you connect.
But Maj. Bhati and the 120 Ahir Bahadurs… their conduct feels nothing short of Chandi herself marching with her sons. pic.twitter.com/2gDJX1UrVB
The 1962 detailing in 120 Bahadur is genuinely impressive... every frame feels researched and respectful. If you appreciate films that honour real history, this one truly deserves a theatre watch.
