Starring Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan released on the big screen on July 11 and here’s what the Janta had to say about the film!
Directed by Santosh Singh, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan revolves around two strangers - Saba (Shanaya Kapoor) and Jahaan (Vikrant Massey) who meet on a train ride. Saba is an actress who wants to screen test for the role of a visually impaired person and hence she ties a blindfold around her eyes so she can train for it. But little does she know that Jahaan is actually visually impaired and hides this fact from her. The two spend four days together in Mussorie and as they fall in love, Jahaan starts to contemplate the realities of their relationship. Will fate bring them together again or will he succumb to his insecurities is what the crux of the story is. Written by Mansi Bagla and produced by Zee Studios, the film is adapted from a Ruskin Bond short story. The movie also marks Shanaya Kapoor’s debut into Bollywood and stars Zain Khan Durrani in a pivotal role.
The audience is in two minds about this new age rom-com. While some felt the movie was a lazy adaptation of the Ruskin Bond story and could have been better in so many ways, some just loved it for its light hearted feel overall. Even though the film got mixed reactions from the audiences, one thing that most viewers agreed on was the fact that this wasn’t the best Bollywood debut for Shanaya Kapoor. This is the first time we’re saying Vikrant Massey as a rom-com lead and even that has been a hit for some and a miss for the others!

Check out what the Janta had to say!
What Lootera was to The Last Leaf, #AankhonKiGustaakhiyan could have been to the Eyes Have It by Ruskin Bond. Could have been being the keywords. The movie needed to be poetic, intense & mature not a lethargic romantic-comedy.

It's not that #AankhonKiGustaakhiyan is bad.

It has charm. Its quite moving in places, & then we have a lovely performance by Vikrant & Shanaya Kapoor (Yes. She's good), but that 2nd half really doesn't do the film any favours when it goes into melodrama mode.
Mostly good. pic.twitter.com/uFV6dkW7U8
First Review #AankhonKiGustaakhiyan from Censor Board ! Welcome to movies 🎬 Nepo Kid #ShanayaKapoor. Worst performance by her. A Boring 😴 Romantic flick all the way. Why producers waste money on stupid scripts. Skip it ! #VikrantMassey u look horrible.

#AankhonKiGustaakhiyan is a feel good film. The story is simple and deeply rooted in emotions #VikrantMassey is outstanding as always and debutante #ShanayaKapoor has the spark and will shine in the future. Definitely worth a watch. pic.twitter.com/rUejtgvDse

'Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan' begins on a promising note, but slowly becomes a frustrating love story. Clunky dialogues, overdramatic sequences pull this film from becoming something good. Vikrant Massey is brilliant; Shanaya Kapoor is okay.

#AankhonKiGustaakhiyan is such a refreshing film. One of the best romantic movies in recent times. It was too pure delved into deep emotions and executed very uniquely. Music is the soul of the movie. @VikrantMassey @shanayakapoor were amazing. Feel good factor is usp.
