While some may find the film problematic, Aap Jaisa Koi is largely being appreciated by the Janta for its visual aesthetics, subtle jibes at patriarchy and original songs.
Starring R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, Dharmatic Entertainment’s Aap Jaisa Koi has sparked a range of conversations online. From being called a light-hearted version of Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani to being appreciated as a visually pleasing film with a few original and enjoyable songs, the Janta has dissected it from every angle. While some of them are upset with the film’s depiction of an extra-marital affair so much so as calling it a justification of cheating in the name of progressiveness, there are many others who are lauding its subtle jibes at the patriarchal baggage that often hide behind so called performative progressiveness.
The kind that’s okay with a woman being free, but only within certain limits. What’s been most widely appreciated, however, are the film’s highly stylized, aesthetic frames and choreographed musical sequences that add visual charm. The film's core message that love only wants love in return but with equality and Ayesha Raza’s performance as a woman finally taking a stand for herself has especially resonated with many.

Here is what the Janta is saying!
#AapJaisaKoi is easily the most stunningly shot Hindi film of 2025 so far. Shot by Debojeet Ray. Directed by Vivek Soni. pic.twitter.com/qo3jGnNymQ

Aap Jaisa Koi hits because it’s messy, real, and doesn’t offer easy fixes.

Not everyone needs therapy.
Some just need to be loved where they’re broken. 💔🫂#AapJaisaKoi #ModernLove pic.twitter.com/38X478amWV
Aap jaisa koi is a MUST watch. I really needed this film to be good. And it delivers. Everything is great but Ayesha Raza wins this round. pic.twitter.com/u9qRpY9tye

This film glorifies wrong values in the name of “equality & freedom.”
A woman leaves her husband after 28 yrs of marriage, at his most vulnerable stage of life — & her family & daughter blindly support her? What…

There will be a lot of discussion and criticism around how #AapJaisaKoi used the Bengali modern women trope and how it could have been more nuanced. But one thing that stole my heart was #AyeshaRaza's performance. It's a brilliantly written woman played with equal magnificence. pic.twitter.com/VVE5uB4EA8

Finally, some original soundtracks in this era of forgettable remixes, tired remakes, and songs made just for reels 🤌🏻#MetroInDino #AapJaisaKoi pic.twitter.com/s2gJFhAZGh

I finally finished watching #AapJaisaKoi. I generally don’t give out spoilers that soon, but pardon me, this time I have a question to ask, and hence, there is a spoiler in the end!

#AapJaisaKoi is a beautifully shot movie with amazing soundtrack and great acting but overall it is a disgusting movie and has crossed all the limits of being pseudo feminist, pseudo woke and pseudo liberal. this movie literally glorifies every uncomfortable thing ever. 1.5/5⭐ pic.twitter.com/JpiYuYwhqt

Just watched Aap Jaisa Koi- genuinely appalled. There’s a clear difference between pushing boundaries and normalizing immorality. If someone cheats, they’ve already compromised their values. But the person who willingly enables it by being with someone else's spouse, playing with…

Even though in most of it's part it's cute and nice but Karan Johar and his love for justifying infidelity to take down/call out the patriarchy- that's where they lost me.
Aap Jaisa Koi” isn’t just a film—it is a quiet hole in the heart of patriarchy, disguised as a love story. With unflinching honesty and poetic restraint, it dares to dismantle the deeply embedded scaffolding of male entitlement, not through grand rebellion, but through the… pic.twitter.com/XJs9ibxvdr
