'Bridget Jones: Mad About Boys' was released on Valentine's weekend and here's what the Janta had to say about the film!
'Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,' directed by Michael Morris, continues the beloved Bridget Jones film series. Following 'Bridget Jones's Baby' (2016), this fourth instalment adapts Helen Fielding's 2013 novel. Renée Zellweger returns as Bridget, now a widowed single mother juggling parenthood, career, and the complexities of modern dating. Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, and Emma Thompson also reprise their roles as Daniel Cleaver, Mark Darcy, and Doctor Rawlings, respectively. The film explores Bridget's life as she navigates these challenges with the support of her loved ones, including her former partner, Daniel. Her re-entry into the dating scene leads to an encounter with a younger man while she simultaneously develops a surprising connection with her son's science teacher.
'Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy' has the audiences in two minds. While some viewers thought it was a perfect blend of humour and heart-wrenching moments, praising Renée Zellweger's performance and the film's overall charm, others expressed disappointment, particularly with the allegedly depressing storyline and how it impacted Bridget's character arc. Overall, it appears to be a film that elicits passionate responses, both positive and negative, making it a potentially divisive but certainly talked-about addition to the Bridget Jones franchise.

I never expected much from the next chapter in the franchise. However, I was very much surprised how much I loved it. It's funny, sad...OK extremely sad, & Renèe Zellweger proved that even decades on she's still got it.

Big news! I have seen the new BRIDGET JONES movie, and while it’s not as good as the four star reviews made out, I found it to be comforting whimsy for a dreary February weekend … pic.twitter.com/FwUIAcd7Lt

While I still find it baffling after so many years and four films that #BridgetJones can't be a woman who doesn't need a partner, and that much of the incisive humor of the first installment is missing, I have to say that I was satisfyingly impressed with her new film. pic.twitter.com/VZXGGk7hIn

Easily the best of the Bridget Jones sequels. A contemplation on grief and middle age. It's very funny and very moving. #BridgetJonesMadAboutTheBoy pic.twitter.com/omQrO1CerX

I just watched the #BridgetJones movie and I’m sad to say that I’m DISAPPOINTED. How dare they do that to my girl Bridget? She finally gets to be happy in the last movie and then they just made the most depressing ending to the series.

Almost a quarter century, Bridget's chaotic and insecurities still entertain us. Her liberation of moving on was delicately portrayed in melancholy manner. Renée navigated every moments with dignity. End-credits' callbacks were precious.

#BridgetJonesMadAboutTheBoy is completely gorgeous from beginning to end. It’s a stunning final chapter for Bridget, focusing on grief and that there is life after death. Cried and laughed all the way to the end.📔💕#BridgetJones pic.twitter.com/OsKiPwNSix
