Deva released on the big screens last weekend and here’s what the Janta had to say about the film!
Deva is Rosshan Andrews’ debut as a director in Hindi cinema, and after conquering Malayalam action movies, it seems like he is winning hearts in Bollywood as well! Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under the Roy Kapur Films banner, Deva revolves around Shahid Kapoor, who plays Dev Ambre, a defiant cop who investigates the murder of a fellow officer; Pooja Hegde plays Riya, Dev's love interest; and Pavail Gulati plays a Mumbai police officer in the film. With an altered ending, it is a remake of Andrews's 2013 Malayalam film, ‘Mumbai Police.’
Deva has brought out mixed reactions from the Janta. Shahid Kapoor's action sequences are visually stunning, the background music actually helps elevate the screenplay, and the gripping crime investigation was also one of the major reasons that kept the audiences seated. Having said that, some of the audience was also put off by the second half, as it is slow in contrast to the highpoint interval, and the climax was criticized for being quite predictable making it a rather boring watch!

I didn’t go for #Deva with any expectations, just thought #ShahidKapoor wouldn’t disappoint, & he did not! The thrills leave you waiting to know the twist (hadn’t seen the south original to my benefit) . Not just @shahidkapoor even @pavailkgulati was fantastic! #DevaReview pic.twitter.com/OseEob7Dp5

#Deva is yet another proof of how Shahid Kapoor gives his all to every character! He’s absolutely brilliant, especially in the first half—gripping, intense, and completely in command. #ShahidKapoor #DevaReview
