Laapata Ladies

Laapata Ladies starring Nitanshi Goel and Pratibha Ranta released in the theaters on March 1 and here’s what the Janta had to say about the film!

Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies is a refreshing story that deals with patriarchy while also being absolutely hilarious. The film stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles. The film was produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Jyoti Deshpande. The film is set in the year 2001 and is somewhere in rural India. It revolves around newlywed brides Jaya (Pratibha Ranta) and Phool (Nitanshi Goel), who have to hide their faces behind veils. Barely allowed to speak or have an opinion, both of their lives are intertwined in a way where an accident makes them swap places and their entire destiny.

The Janta felt the movie was a beautiful representation of women's empowerment. Right from the dialogues, screenwriting to the ace performances in the film, the audiences were highly impressed by how well everything was weaved together. Kiran Rao, specifically has gained a lot of love of the Janta for making this wholesome yet light hearted story come to life.
