Squid Game season 2, starring Lee Jung-Jae, released on Netflix on December 26, and of course, the Janta had a lot of opinions about the highly anticipated sequel!
Squid Game, created by Hwang Dong-Hyuk, became Netflix’s most-viewed series when it premiered in 2021. The story revolves around people who are heavily drowning in debt and are given a chance to win money by playing games underground on an island. But the shocking twist here is that the ones who lose every round of the games are shot dead on site. Seong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-Jae) survives to be the winner of the first season. But the trauma of it all makes him want to put this game to an end. Here’s where season 2 comes into the picture when Seong Gi-Hun is out to find the makers of this game and hence finds himself in the middle of the deadly game all over again. Just when he thought he knew the games best, new characters, new plot twists and new games are introduced. Wi Ha-Jun, Im Si-Wan, Choi Seung-Hyun, Park Gyu-Young, Park Sung-Hun are amongst the new names who play pivotal roles in the new season.
While season 1 felt like the best thriller we’d ever watched, season 2 unfortunately did not connect as much with the Janta. Most of them felt like the writing was pretty weak, and the first few episodes could’ve been clubbed into just one. The climax also did not feel exciting enough after binging through seven episodes, and most people are calling it a filler season before season 3 comes out next year. Choi Seung-Hyun, who plays Thanos, has garnered a lot of praise on social media for his role and for standing out as the carefree one in a swarm of people who were scared.

it’s 4am and I just binged #SquidGame2. Games were quite interesting & tense at times but for the most part, it’s a weak sequel with little to no development and the stupidest character motivations. Decisions made absolutely no sense and finale was a mess pic.twitter.com/KqKqD9pXTD

- i knew the boat captain was a spy. it's suspicious that he saved the cop conveniently but couldn't find the island where he saw him after trying for 3 years.
- 1st 3 eps were a slow build up. things start to become exciting on ep 4 when we got to the games
Squid Game season 2 was a mistake, it failed to replicate everything season one was, no shock, no surprises, revelations or heartbreaking plot twists. The mc who was meticulous and calculated with his actions became an emotional naive wreck.

squid game 2 really felt like a filler season. just characters being introduced for season 3 and three mid game rounds. nothing even remotely memorable happened. no eul turning out to be a guard was unexpected but the ship capitan twist was soo predectible
Lesser dramatic dialogues, emotions, focus on games and suspense.

Players of S2 seemed dumb, unlike S1 where there were a few smart players.
Wasted so much time on the ‘voting’ process.
Hated the ending. #SquidGame2 was a 6/10 for me pic.twitter.com/rrRKrGpHwC

• It was good, but i didn’t love the plot’s culmination
• Last episode was a lil stinky
• Hyun-Ju (The humble queen) is the fucking GOAT
• The recruiter is awesome, and he made E1 one of my favorite TV show episodes of all time#SquidGame2
Just watched Squid Game Season 2. It's entertaining and you might breeze through the 7 episodes, but the writing is still weak. There is no character development in the show and whatsoever trope a character has in episode 1, it will go unchanged until the end.

squid game season 2 gave us nothing actually 😭 the new game was meh & the only new character who stole the show was park sung hoon, this season is actually more of a bridge to the actual plot. still enjoyable to watch since i finished it in one sitting :D

I enjoyed S2 although I do understand the critiques. Gi-hun didn’t really have a solid plan going back in on how he was going to tear the organization down from the inside. It was just kinda… on the fly when he did decide to do it? Curious how they tie it up for S3. #SquidGame2

Thanos, played by #ChoiSeungHyun, was an absolute scene-stealer! His character may not have been the nicest, but he brought a certain type of manic energy to every moment he was in. #SquidGame #SquidGameSeason2 pic.twitter.com/dt0dAa9OUJ
