The Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, and Sanya Malhotra starrer has managed to collect only ₹32 crore at the box office so far.
Produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a quintessential rom-com that follows a familiar formula. The story unfolds as Sunny Sanskari (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi Kumari (Janhvi Kapoor), cross paths to try to break up the wedding of Vikram Singh (Rohit Saraf) and Ananya (Sanya Malhotra), who were once their lovers but are now exes. In the process, sparks between them ignite leading to an inevitable story of a whirlwind romance.

Packed with larger-than-life drama, destination wedding chaos, and a generous dose of comedy, the film delivers your usual fun, light-hearted, run-of-the-mill romance. While some of the Janta appreciated its self-aware, meta and parody-like tone and enjoyed watching the cast clearly having a blast, others felt it lacked any real depth, calling it the perfect “second-screen movie” to watch while scrolling on your phone. But one thing was clear that the Janta seemed divided as some swooned over Rohit Saraf, especially after the surprise cameo of Prajakta Koli as Dimple (a nod to Mismatched), while others were unimpressed by Janhvi Kapoor’s performance, claiming she brought little to the film. However, Varun Dhawan’s signature charm and comic timing earned him praise, with many comparing Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari to Khaitan’s earlier Dulhania films Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania for their shared tone, energy, and familiar narrative beats.
Here's what the Janta is saying about the film!
#SunnySanskariKiTulsiKumari was such a fun and light watch!!! I have to say #JanhviKapoor as Tulsi literally made the movie 100x funnier 😭 every line, every expression was perfection 💛 pic.twitter.com/3OziUrIrvT

Watched Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari. Felt like a medley. Songs have been elongated with bleh script. Zero depth. Why are the characters so shallow?? However, the grandeur and attire quotient was good. The actors were good. The dialogues were also fine. But the script wasn't.

If Jugg Jug Jeeyo & Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani had a child that lost its way through teenage, it’d be called Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

And if the audience’s confusion between heart and mind needed any clearer reflection, it showed in the box office numbers. By its fourth day, the film has managed to earn a total of ₹32 crores. Its release alongside Rishab Shetty’s magnum opus Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to the highly acclaimed Kantara, made the competition even tougher, drawing much of the audience’s attention. Even the catchines of song and dance sequneces like Bijuria and Panwadi don’t seem to be working their charm for this film!
#SunnySanskariKiTulsiKumari continues it’s run at the box office, recording ₹8.20 Cr on Day 4, taking its total to ₹32.12 Cr.

The film remained strong in front of mighty KANTARA, that too with limited shows and screens across major cities and multiplexes…… From today BOGO… pic.twitter.com/8IRNOLVogm
