'Test' starring Nayanthara, R. Madhavan and Siddharth released on Netflix last weekend and here's what the Janta has to say about the film!
Netflix's first Tamil original movie 'Test' was released on Netflix on April 4. Directed by S. Sashikanth, the film features a star-studded cast including R. Madhavan as Saravanan, a scientist; Nayanthara as Kumudha, a school teacher and Saravanan's wife; Siddharth as Arjun Venkatraman, a cricketer facing the end of his career due to poor performance and Meera Jasmine plays Padma, Arjun's wife. The plot revolves around these four individuals from different walks of life facing their own crucial tests. Arjun, a celebrated cricketer, is under pressure to perform in a make-or-break match. Kumudha is determined to become a mother through IVF, while her husband, Saravanan, is passionately working on a groundbreaking scientific project that could change India's future but requires significant funding. Their lives become intertwined when Saravanan's need for money leads him to a desperate act involving Arjun's career, forcing all three to confront their ambitions, sacrifices, and the choices that will define them.
'Test,' appears to have left many viewers feeling rather disappointed. While the lead actors give it their best with whatever little development their characters had, the film overall suffers significantly from a screenplay that struggles to maintain momentum. Many described the film as emotionally flat and lacking the engaging storytelling needed to hold one's attention. Despite the presence of talented actors and some appreciating certain aspects like the cricket sequences and dialogues, the general consensus points towards a dull and uninspired drama!

#Test – One of the most exhausting films in recent times. Despite some solid performances, poorly executed screenplay drags everything down

A flat, emotionless drama with no impactful storytelling to hold attention
A true test of patience – and not in a good way
My Rating: 1/5 pic.twitter.com/Au1X8fURqL
Despite mixed reviews,Queen performance is captivating all❤️🔥#Nayanthara #Test #TestOnNetflix pic.twitter.com/ERdA0FeRrJ

#Test on Netflix. Plot could be mid but the main actors were great. Shout out to Maddy for his role. Brings out interesting messages of life. Hero or Zero. pic.twitter.com/cF6k1wfdBB

Tiresome, languid and Tests your patience!
A startling lack of attention to detail .
The emotions are just not strong enough to overlook the puerile lapses in logic.
Disinterested, stilted performances by an ensemble
Thank god for the ff button!@NetflixIndia pic.twitter.com/iGfOCxgRSO
#TestOnNetflix has enough goodness for a direct OTT film..I badly wanted #RMadhavan's character to taste success even if it is an illegal way..#Nayanathara was okay..but other characters didn't impress much though the actors performed well..Good watch!! pic.twitter.com/ApDdve5NYY

When you make a film with @ActorMadhavan #Nayanthara #Siddharth

where possibly can you go wrong to not make it right. #TestOnNetflix is testing patience not because of actors but gaps in narrative. @NayantharaU done best to keep the movie going. pic.twitter.com/XS8RnJQXEW
#TestOnNetflix an ordinary film with gaping holes in the screenplay on Cricket betting! Only #Nayanthara is good.

PSA: Stay away from TEST (on nf) if you value your time. I almost wanted to break the TV during the last 45 mins. Tbh, the plot with one or two changes, perhaps, would've been thrilling. The overall execution was poor & Maddy's characterisation was amateurish, tosaytheleast 😵💫

It tested my patience with how stupid this movie is and how bad the screenplay is…
Absolute comedy …
