Starring Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar, The Royals had created a lot of buzz and anticipation on social media. However, now that the show is out, the audience seems to be disappointed by it.
Netflix has a penchant of presenting royal aesthetics with an interesting flair and packaging it with the right dose of drama, emotions, and romance. Therefore, when the streaming giant announced its latest offering in this genre, The Royals, it generated a lot of buzz on social media and an exciting star cast added to the anticipation around the series!
The 8-episode show centers on a free-spirited Aviraaj (Ishaan Khatter) who inherits the title of the Maharaja of Morpur after his father’s passing. Unlike his brother, Digvijay (Vihaan Samat), who embraces royal duties, Aviraaj is largely uninterested in them. However, owing to the royal family’s financial struggles, he accepts the task of developing The Royal B&B, a project that allows commoners to experience royal life firsthand with the help of Sophia (Bhumi Pednekar) a successful CEO. As their paths collide, Aviraaj and Sophia develop a romantic connection, though things get topsy turvy as their respective exes - Kunal (Udit Arora) and Ayesha (Nora Fatehi) return to their lives. The show follows how the two navigate through it.

The Royals released on Friday and the audience seems to be disappointed by the cliched troupes, poor writing, and lack of chemistry between the protagonists. Ishaan Khatter, however, seems to have swayed the audience with his charm and chiseled abs and the viewers can't stop raving about how impressive he is in the show!
Check out the Janta's reaction!
Watched 2 episodes of the #TheRoyals on @netflix . #IshaanKhatter has matured and how! Looking really hot and also acting beautifully using his expressive eyes. #BhumiPednekar is a bit of a misfit for this role imho. Everyone else come across as well dressed caricatures.

#theroyalsnetflix In an attempt to combine romance, drama, and royal intrigue,The Royals comes out as clichéd and uninteresting.Despite the starcast includes Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Zeenat Aman, & Sakshi Tanwar, the show suffers uninspired directing and poor storytelling.

Watched #TheRoyals — it’s an okayish series overall, but the standout is definitely #IshaanKhatter, whose screen presence is truly impressive. He’s the only element that makes the series worth watching. While I understood the concept, the attempt to portray the lives of royals +

The Royals was such a bad attempt at whatever they were trying to do but god damn Ishan Khatter. His rizz and charm oh my godd. And what's up with Bhoomi and her lips and trying to look all petite. Yuck. Why do actresses do this to themselves just to look ugly.

The Royals is a colossal disappointment. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t bother. It's plagued by expressionless performances, shoddy writing, painfully subpar acting. Talents like Sakshi Tanwar- Zeenat Aman were wasted. Bhumi Pednekar & Ishaan Khatter were a mess. 1/5. pic.twitter.com/OoeFVnJxE1

Good to see a star being born in a sea of cookie cutter boys. The royals (new on @Netflix) treats him like a star and he sizzles in full measure. Shooter in the perfect couple on @netflix, fizzy in the royals, next is cannes. A little bit of distraction in these depressing times. pic.twitter.com/UO0XxZo2P6

Ishaan khatter 🥵🥵🥵#TheRoyals pic.twitter.com/GDwzzKlpIV
Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar have zero chemistry in The Royals, the royal women - Zeenat Aman and Sakshi Tanwar are dressed more like gujju bens than Rajasthani rajputs. Half way into the first episode and I'm giving up. Bore! #netflix
