An Open Letter to Katrina Kaif: a born dancer and a fitness guru we didn't know we needed!

Even after a two-decade-long career, Katrina Kaif still continues to mesmerize us with her effortless dancing skills and beauty!

Dear Katrina Kaif,

There are very few in Bollywood who make it this far without having a command of the language and if there's anyone who can do it, it's you! You were such a major part of the 2000s era with hit comedies like Welcome, Partner, Namastey London, and Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya. Honestly, your screen presence and hard work to make your own name in this industry are what made you a successful actress IMO. Some of my favorite movies are Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara where you've played characters that felt like a breath of fresh air and they're absolutely relatable! I can watch these movies on loop and still never get tired.

New York, Ek Tha Tiger, and Phantom were movies where you stepped out of your comfort zone and tried something new. You played more complex characters and had more to offer to your audience who saw you in a new light but your dance numbers steal the show! In a time when Bollywood had legendary dancers like Madhuri Dixit and Hrithik Roshan, you came in and swept everyone off their feet with your abundant dancing energy. The sensational Sheila Ki Jawaani, contemporary moves in Kamli, aerobatic stunts in Malang, the power pact Swag Se Swagat, Chikni Chameli, and Kala Chashma are songs where your body did all the talking. All of them became ultimate classics and party anthems for years. My friends and I still dance our hearts out on these songs and try to recreate your viral dance moves which we fail at!

Your extensive workout routines and your discipline to maintain a healthy lifestyle have been a motivation to many including your fellow co-actors who aspire to have a body like yours. You make hitting the gym look like a cakewalk. During the pandemic, you, along with your trainer Yasmin Karachiwala took to Instagram to share your home workout regimen with the world and I've tried that every single day at home although of course, I didn't look as pretty as you did while doing numerous sets of lunges, burpees, and squats.

Apart from being a phenomenal dancer and fitness inspiration, you also are an ambitious entrepreneur and stepped into the world of cosmetics with Kay Beauty. Being a celebrity brand, I expected it to be all fancy but it was impressive to see how it was so diverse and inclusive of all skin types. It specifically caters to Indian skin requirements, something that we, as Indian women have been desperately waiting for.

You've always kept your personal and professional life separate. You've never been one to vocally speak about your relationships or be a part of gossip. But what started as a sweet compliment on Koffee With Karan, turned into a beautiful relationship of purity, togetherness, and lots of love. A gorgeous couple that none of us expected to brew on the Koffee couch but had all of us swooning when we looked at those dreamy wedding pictures on Instagram. Vicky and you look super wholesome together and I'm all for it!

Over the years, I've seen myself fangirling over Katrina Kaif- The superstar, the dance icon, a happy-go-lucky girl with a golden heart, and someone who owns a wardrobe I'd totally want to steal. You're a full package of fun and everything you expect a total entertainer to be and I truly cannot wait to see what more you have in store for us this year!
