Indian blogger and fashion influencer, Devangini Karkhanis is one such fashion influencer who manages to stand out in the crowd. Following her passion for finding new and accessible fashion, Devangini is doing everything to give her followers a way to better themselves in their fashion game. Voicing her thoughts through her fashion and blog, Devangini is definitely inspiring others. We had the opportunity to chat with her about her journey through fashion and she some interesting insights to share.

Take a look at what Devangini Karkhanis had to share:

1. What made you start creating content? And when did you start creating content?

"Fashion has always been something close to my heart and exploring unique style accessible for all was always on my mind. I was really inspired by Ashley aka 'Best Dressed' and Komal Pandey's inspirational work. That really shaped the way I looked at fashion, lifestyle, and fitness. I have been writing and following my passion for blogging for about 2 years now and it's been a very creative, insightful and fun journey ever since. I decided to build a feed of relatable content that will be welcoming and enjoyable, both visually, and with captions that are catchy!"

2. What makes your content stand out?

"I've always believed that my blog is my expression; it's a creative voice that reaches out and touches hearts. If I had to define it, I'd say - Creative, Inventive, and trendsetter - These are the words that define me and my work as a fashion blogger. I've believed that fashion is a form of expression for everyone and it's something that's a unique voice. My philosophy is to create styles and content that are relatable and can inspire people to use in everyday life. I believe in empowering minds and brands with my trendsetting work. I have a vast portfolio of working with brands of national and international repute and every time I've tried to give it a creative angle of my own!

As an influencer, being different everyday is a challenge always, and a fun one at that! Ideas are something that drives me to create noteworthy content."

3. How do you choose what to promote on your feed and what not to?

"It all depends on the brand, brief, idea and what my audience enjoys most. There has to be the right amount of promotional of creative and conceptual content, as well as brand driven work. When good content is promoted it not only reaches new minds, but also brands that would eventually enjoy working with me. The strategy is to strike a balance always and plan the boots in advance. The key is always great and genuine engagement from people who love to follow and share it. Picking the right TG to promote is also equally important."

4. One instance/experience that made it all worthwhile?

"There have been quite a few and this has been an exhilarating journey. One of my favorite

international brands loved my work and shared it on their Stories. Upcoming collaborations with some really amazing world-class brands is happening this year and it has really uplifted my spirit. I'm all rearing to work and get some innovative content. I think the best accolades that come our way as influencers are, people, appreciating work on a daily basis. The community online that loves us every day, consistently. What can be more inspiring than their faith in me!"

5. What does a regular day look like?

"There is so much to do in a day, sometimes I wish I had more than 24 hours. But jokes apart, it's very challenging. I start with a 2-minute morning meditation and then workout for an hour. I'm also a full-time working copywriter and a mom to a 5 year old so it's challenging. I browse good work and references that inspire me each day. I decide my posts, plan to get those shot, then mail new brands and make new contacts. Following-up for payments and raising invoices is what I generally keep for the weekend. I feel the platform we operate on is fast-evolving and constantly changing so researching, brainstorming, keeping up with trends is so important every day. What is trending today quickly gets old tomorrow, it's necessary to keep looking for new strategies to increase engagement."

6. How do you make moolahs?

"I have always believed, content is King but engagement is King Kong. It stands at the top and roars like no other achievement! Good content and visually appealing content always is loved and plays a major role in getting the moolah. I feel organising work, charting out goals and constantly being on the go is really important. It's not all fun and smiles - making your creative work lucrative too, for yourself and your brands is a difficult job. Brand collaborations and bagging them consistently in such a competitive environment is so important. Attending events, posting story content, creating good blogs all adds value and money. Having a good media kit is of utmost importance, so is having features and testimonials from brands. An influencer portfolio is the most versatile with so many angles to it. I feel having faith in your work and commitment along with professionalism and timeliness will help get better returns and more work as well."

7. Where do you get ideas for your videos from?

"I follow some good film makers, as I believe they bring a fresh perspective to your work.

Inspiration for ideas comes from looking at the best ad-films too. I'm into advertising myself and a scriptwriter too so that really helps me talk and review products in an appealing manner in my videos. I also try my own hand at editing video content on my own and shooting it on my tripod too. I love Shehnaz Treasurywala for her travel content that she edits herself and the beauty of it is that it's so real and beautiful, yet so genuine and raw. When you do it all yourself, you explore to the depth of things and get fresh ideas too!"

8. Weirdest brief ever received?

"Hahaha there have been so many, but there was this promotion of a famous chocolate where I had to eat it while dancing to its jingle. I found it really funny and felt that it wouldn't go with my vibe and so didn't do it. Today, I feel brands have also become a bit flexible and allow creators to tweak the brief a bit according to their own personality and feed. It's rather cool!"

9. If not an influencer, what would you be?

"Fashion is my voice and artistic expression, I would have loved to be a fashion designer and create unique styles. Also, I love to contribute to making the world a better place and so, I would love to do some good charity work for the causes I believe in."

10. Message/tips for upcoming bloggers

"It's just about following your passion and creating a place of your own not just on people's feeds but in their hearts too. More than building followers, it's about building a loyalty for your work and a community that supports you. There will be so many people who will tell you what you are doing isn't good or enough, but you must keep going. Just be unstoppable and follow your heart, create what you love."
