Reviewing the food and trying new local dishes, Sameer Bawa aka 'spice it up with sam' is making us drool with his Instagram content. Have a look at his chat with us.

A small idea of him wanting his own photo album of all his adventures and travel that he could look back to encouraged Sameer Bawa to enter into content creation. A professional and a food/restaurant reviewer, Sameer is finding a way to relish every local and traditional delicacy from around the world and while creating drool-worthy content. And surely, who wouldn't like to have options before choosing one, right? As a person who loves food and travel, he believes in experimenting and finding new surprises. We had the opportunity to have a candid chat with the man himself and he had a lot to share about his life.

Here's all Sameer Bawa had to share about his life as a content creator:

1) What made you start creating content and when did you begin?

"I have always had an eye for finer things in life and somewhere I wanted to create a repository of my experiences. A personal photo album/journal of sorts that would evoke nostalgia a few years hence. And that's how the journey of content creation started almost 8-9 years ago. Instagram has been a more recent phenomenon though and I jumped on the bandwagon just about 3 years ago."

2) What makes your content stand out?

"I have been lucky to have travelled the world extensively and my experiences play a major role in how my content shapes up. For example - I create a lot of food-related content and hypothetically let's say I am trying out a new Mexican restaurant in New Delhi. I would delve into my experience of trying out multiple local dishes during my visit to Mexico and then share a contextual comparison with my audience."

3) How do you choose what to promote on your feed and what not to?

"To be honest, I go with my gut feeling at that point in time. There is no set process that I follow."

4) One instance/experience that made it all worthwhile?

"There have been more than a few occasions where people in the hospitality business including Chef, Owners, Restaurant managers and even servers have told me that they choose a place to dine after they read my review. This for me is really endearing."

5) What does a regular day look like?

"I actually have a full-time corporate job but I try and ensure that I publish content on a regular basis. Most of the content is created on the weekends when I have some free time at hand."

Such a pleasure meeting Marco Pierre White @marcopierrewhit at the DLF Food Excellence awards last evening @dlfavenue Saket. This was the first time I met the “Godfather of Modern cooking” and he came across as a very warm and humble personality. I would want to share a few facts about him which might get a smile on your face. . 1)He was the first British Chef to be awarded 3 Michelin stars which he famously returned in 1999. 2)He once made Gordon Ramsay cry. 3)While we were getting this picture clicked, he was standing on a platform which was at least 5-6 inches higher than where I was standing, so he is not as tall as he looks in the frame.? . Till next time sir !!?? @world_onaplate . Follow my adventures on : @spiceitupwithsam @spiceitupwithsam @spiceitupwithsam @spiceitupwithsam . 6) How do you make moolahs?

"As I said, I have a full-time corporate job. In addition to that, some brands approach you directly or through PR companies for a paid assignment to promote a product or service."

7) Where do you get ideas for your videos from?

"I experiment a lot. There is no set pattern or inspiration."

8) Weirdest brief ever received?

"I generally don’t engage with weird people. If not an influencer, what would you be? Answer - I am just a very normal and level headed bloke. I would still be an incorporate job that I can pursue with passion. “Passion” is the buzzword here."

Message/tips for upcoming bloggers

"Follow your passion, be consistent, be disciplined and be genuine !! Don’t try to fake it to make it."
