Reels that show glimpses of celebration, devotion, and togetherness, highlighting Durga Puja in all its grandness.
During the festive season in India, there’s a feeling in the air that’s hard to put into words but easy to recognise the moment you step outside. Not to mention, the lights, the food, the community gathering, depending on what generally excites you about the festival, we all find our reasons to step out. Personally, for me, the best parts have always been pandal hoppings and going to local fairs, trying out the scariest rides, feeling the music from the street performances, and sometimes just standing in a crowd watching everything around me cheer up in a way that even an introvert like me finds comforting. As I grew up, what excites me the most, and I feel many others feel this too, is being part of that crowd, celebrating the same thing together and feeling a sense of belonging that’s rare in everyday life.
The grandeur with which Indians celebrate their festivals is beautiful and literally deserves no introduction, but Durga Puja has been the grandest festival for me since forever, with its lights, the artistry of the idols, the energy in the streets, and the way even the smallest gestures of celebration feel so meaningful. Now, with social media connecting us in ways we couldn’t imagine before, for better or worse, the joy has become more visible on our screens, and scrolling through reels from different corners of the country shows how this festival brings everyone together, even through a screen, and reminds me that the spirit of Durga Puja is unmatched, alive, and shared by millions.
