Check out her hacks right away!

Start from the top

Always begin with ceilings, fans, and light fixtures. Dust falls downward, so cleaning top-to-bottom saves you time. A long-handled microfiber duster or a vacuum extension works best.

Zone cleaning

Divide your home into zones: kitchen, living room, bedrooms, and balcony. Focus on one space each day instead of trying to do it all at once. It keeps the process organised and motivating.

Declutter before you deep clean

Keep three baskets labelled Donate, Repair, and Keep. You’ll be amazed at how much visual calmness comes with clearing unnecessary items.

Prioritise the kitchen

Start in the kitchen because it’s where grease and moisture collect most. Use a baking soda and dish soap mix for oily tiles and chimneys. Add a splash of vinegar for extra shine.

Refresh soft furnishings

Wash curtains, cushion covers, and bedsheets early on. Add fabric softener or essential oils like
lavender for a fresh scent. Line-dry them in sunlight for natural crispness.

Handle surfaces with care

Wood: Wipe with a damp cloth and finish with furniture polish. Glass: Clean with vinegar and old newspaper for a streak-free shine. Marble: Avoid acids, use mild soap and water only.

For those living alone

Focus on high-impact areas, your living room, bathroom, and entrance. Hire professional cleaning for deep-cleaning tasks like upholstery and chimneys if time’s short.

Don’t skip hidden spots

Check under beds, behind refrigerators, and inside window channels. Use a small brush or handheld vacuum to reach narrow corners.

Add the fragrance of festivity

Once everything’s clean, use light scented candles or natural diffusers. Scents like sandalwood, citrus, and jasmine instantly uplift the mood.

Keep it eco-friendly

Reuse old cotton T-shirts as wipes, try DIY cleaners (lemon + vinegar), and donate décor pieces
instead of discarding them.

And remember, cleaning isn’t just a chore, it's a ritual of renewal. Each cleared corner makes room for positivity, light, and calmness during Diwali.
